The Salings is a civil parish in the Braintree District in Essex, England. [1] It includes Bardfield Saling and Great Saling. The civil parish has 475 inhabitants (2011). [2] [3]
Oxenhope is a village and civil parish near Keighley in the metropolitan borough of Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. It was historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire. The population was 2,476 at the time of the 2001 census which had increased to 2,626 at the 2011 Census. Oxenhope railway station is the terminus for the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.

Finchingfield is a village in the Braintree district in north Essex Essex, England, a primarily rural area. It is approximately 6 miles (10 km) from Thaxted, farther from the larger towns of Saffron Walden and Braintree.
Charney Bassett is a village and civil parish about 4+1⁄2 miles (7 km) north of Wantage and 6 miles (10 km) east of Faringdon in the Vale of White Horse. It was part of Berkshire until the 1974 boundary changes transferred it to Oxfordshire. The 2011 Census recorded the parish population as 314. The River Ock flows through it, and divides here for a mile or so. The alternative name of the river, Charn or Cearn, may have originally applied to the northern arm only.

Little Bardfield is a village and civil parish in the Uttlesford district of northwest Essex, England. Little Bardfield is a small scattered village on the southwest side of the vale of the River Pant. A minor road runs through the village and connects Thaxted 3 miles (5 km) to the west, to Great Bardfield 1 mile (1.6 km) to the east. The parish comprises the village of Little Bardfield and two hamlets: Hawkspur Green and Oxen End, which are all surrounded by farmland.

The population of the civil parish at the 2011 Census was 282. It is near the town of Braintree. The hamlet of Blake End was part of the parish. On 1 April 2019 the parish was abolished and merged with Bardfield Saling to form "The Salings".
