The Sixth Lie (stylized in all caps) is a Japanese electronic rock band formed in May 2015 in Tokyo, Japan. Their music is known for its hybrid style inspired by the latest western music, and their overall science fiction-inspired theme connected to near future and outer space. [1]

Contents

They held their first world tour from June 2017, which gathered 2,500 visitors and resulted in sold out CD's at venues.

Etymology

The name of the band is a reference to the French composer Claude Debussy, who said: "Art is the most beautiful of all lies." The band's name is an indication of band's aim, "to create a lie so beautiful that it cannot be full experienced by the five senses". [1]

Vamps is a Japanese rock duo formed in 2008 by Hyde and K.A.Z. Only a year after their founding, Vamps performed its first international tour, ten dates in the United States, and in 2010 they went on their first world tour. Originally signed to Hyde's own record label Vamprose, every release the band has had to date has reached the top ten on the Oricon music chart. In 2013, the group changed labels to Universal Music Group's Delicious Deli Records and produced their worldwide debut release. After several tours and collaborations with Western acts, Vamps worked with outside producers and songwriters for the first time on the 2017 album Underworld before temporarily ceasing all activities at the end of that year.

Shibuya Airwaves was a radio program produced by eigoMANGA created by Oscar Gutierrez Jr., Tetsuro Mori, and Austin Osueke. The show aired on 1550 AM KYCY in San Francisco, CA and first aired on September 24, 2005. The program was composed of a music line-up ranging from anime soundtracks and Japanese pop music. Shibuya Airwaves also featured special interviews with Japanese artists. Oscar Gutierrez Jr. was the on-air host under the name "Bhodee" of the show, and Tetsuro Mori co-hosted under the name of "Tetsu". Austin Osueke also contributes as a part-time co-host under the name of "Stewart House".

Vivid was a five-member Japanese visual kei rock band from Tokyo. The band was formed in March 2009 and is currently signed with Sony Music Japan's Epic Records Japan label. Vivid had announced on Jan 28, 2015, that they will be disbanding after the last stop of their final tour in April.

Okamoto's is a Japanese rock band, formed in 2006. They made their major label debut on May 26, 2010, and were signed by Ariola Japan.

Man with a Mission, stylized in all caps and sometimes shortened as MWAM, is a Japanese rock band which was formed in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan, in 2010. The band currently consists of five band members, with stage names of Tokyo Tanaka, Jean-Ken Johnny, Kamikaze Boy, DJ Santa Monica and Spear Rib (drums). Their distinguishing feature is that all of the members wear differently designed wolf masks during both their concerts and their music videos. Wagakki Band is a Japanese band that combines rock music with wagakki and shigin. Their early songs were adapted from Vocaloid recordings but they have since written their own original music. Their music videos for the songs "Tengaku" (天樂) and "Senbonzakura" (千本桜) have attracted millions of views on YouTube. They have played live in Asia, Europe, and the United States. Their most recent album I vs I was released in July 2023.

Live: Legend I, D, Z Apocalypse is the first video album by Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal. The album contains live footage of three shows, entitled Legend "I", Legend "D", and Legend "Z", respectively (spelling out the initials of "Ijime, Dame, Zettai"), performed in Tokyo from late 2012 to early 2013. The album was released for general sale in Blu-ray format on November 20, 2013.

SiM are a Japanese alternative metal band from the Kanagawa Prefecture formed in 2004. The band currently consists of MAH (vocals), SHOW-HATE (guitar), SIN (bass), and GODRi (drums). Their musical style mixes heavy metal, alternative, hip hop, ska, reggae, dub and punk with rebellious lyrics and songs with attitude.

<i>Golden Kamuy</i> Japanese manga series

Golden Kamuy is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Satoru Noda. It was serialized in Shueisha's seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Jump from August 2014 to April 2022, with its chapters collected in thirty-one tankōbon volumes. The story follows Saichi Sugimoto, a veteran of the early twentieth-century Russo-Japanese War, and his quest to find a huge fortune of gold of the Ainu people, helped by a young Ainu girl named Asirpa. The Ainu language in the story is supervised by Hiroshi Nakagawa, an Ainu language linguist from Chiba University.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Esprit D'Air</span> British-Japanese rock band

Esprit D'Air is a British-Japanese alternative metal band formed in London in 2010 with members from Japan and England. In 2013, the band increased in popularity as their single "Shizuku" became the first playable song in the J-rock category in the video game Rock Band 3 but disbanded in the same year as members went back to Japan. Since reforming in 2016, Kai appoints session musicians and support members, which included some of the original line-up to perform with him on tour.

Wasuta is a Japanese girl group formed by Avex Trax in 2015. The group, which frequently uses cat-like wordplay and colorful costumes in their song lyrics and performances, has contributed songs to the anime series Idol Time PriPara and Kiratto Pri Chan. Since 2016, Wasuta has released 4 albums, 4 mini-albums, 7 CD singles, 7 digital singles, 2 live albums, 1 best album, and a live concert Blu-ray from their first nationwide Japanese tour.

Brats is a Japanese all-female rock band formed in 2011 by sisters Rei and Aya Kuromiya. In 2015, guitarist Hinako became an official member of the group. The band released their first full-length album BRATS in 2018, which contained theme songs from the anime series To Be Hero and the Japanese film Slavemen.

"Setsugetsuka", released as a single titled Uta no Prince-sama Eternal Song CD "Setsugetsuka", is a song released for the mobile game Uta no Prince-sama: Shining Live. The song is performed by the characters of the game, Otoya Ittoki, Tokiya Ichinose, Ren Jinguji, Masato Hijirikawa, Natsuki Shinomiya, Syo Kurusu, Cecil Aijima, Reiji Kotobuki, Ai Mikaze, Ranmaru Kurosaki, and Camus. The song was released on November 21, 2018.
