Shim or Sim (Korean: 심) is a Korean surname. There are six Shim clans in Korea based in the regions of Cheongsong, Pungsan, Samcheok, Buyu, Uiryeong, and Jeonju. The biggest Shim clan is Cheongsong; they comprise about 85% of all those with the surname Shim. Fourteen percent of all Korean Shims are members of the Pungsan and Samcheok clans. As of 2000, there were 252,255 people with this surname in South Korea, less than 1% of the population.
Heungbu and Nolbu or Heungbujeon is a Korean story written in the late Joseon Dynasty (1392–1897). The identity of its writer is unknown. The story of "Heungbu and Nolbu" reportedly took place about 200 years ago, and was passed down through generations. It is now told as a popular bedtime story for Korean children.

Chunhyang-jeon is a 1950 Korean-language opera by South Korean composer Hyun Jae-Myung. This is generally regarded as the first western-style Korean opera. The plot concerns a girl Sun Chunhyang, and is based on the original Chunhyangjeon, a 17th-century novel telling one of the best known traditional love stories of Korea, based on the pansori Chunhyangga.

Jo Ung’s heroic actions are emphasized in this story, which is known to be one of the most-read heroic novels in the late Joseon dynasty alongside Yu Chungryeol-jeon.
Jin Daebang Jeon is a novel written in the late Joseon dynasty that details the story of Jin Daebang, an undutiful son who eventually comes to mend his ways to become a filial son. Jin Daebang Jeon is notable in that it features an immoral person as its protagonist in order to illuminate the importance of Confucian ethics and morality.
Im Gyeongeop jeon is a historical war novel set against the backdrop of the Manchu invasions in the 17th century, fictionalizing the life of the real historical figure, General Im Gyeong-eop.
Yu Chungryeol-jeon is a war (heroic) novel that tells the story of Yu Chungryeol, who saves his family from crisis manufactured by a treacherous courtier and defeats the enemies to protect his country and the emperor.
Pansori-based fiction is a genre of novels that are related to pansori or fiction with strong characteristics of pansori.
Choe Cheok jeon is a classic Korean novel by Jo Wi-han. It is set in the late 16th and early 17th century in Joseon, Japan, China, and Vietnam, and depicts a family's diaspora and reunion during the turmoil of wars that swept East Asia. The protagonists Choe Cheok and Ok-yeong overcome the atrocities of war and reunite. The narrative is primarily written in Chinese and considered biographical.
Kim Jwa-geun was a Korean political figure from the Andong Kim clan, who held a number of high-ranking government positions in the late Joseon period, including Chief State Councillor at King Cheoljong's court. He was the younger brother of Queen Sunwon.
Her Tale of Shim Chong is a Korean girls' love manhwa series written by Seri and illustrated by Biwan. The manhwa was serialized online via Comico from September, 2017 to March, 2019. The story is a reimagining of the classic Korean novel The Tale of Sim Chong.
