Theodore Michael Shapiro (born September 29, 1971) is an American composer best known for his film scores.

He is a frequent collaborator of directors Ben Stiller, Paul Feig, Jay Roach, Karyn Kusama, and Rawson Marshall Thurber, and won the 2022 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series for his work on Stiller’s series Severance .

Life and career

Shapiro was born in Washington, D.C., and is of Italian descent. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Brown University in 1993, followed by a Master of Fine Arts in music composition from the Juilliard School [1] in 1995.

He is best known for his film scores, particularly for the comedies State and Main , 13 Going on 30 , Along Came Polly , The Devil Wears Prada , Fun with Dick and Jane , Idiocracy , You, Me and Dupree , Wet Hot American Summer , Marley & Me , Tropic Thunder , the Jay Roach film Dinner for Schmucks and was one of the composers for Diary of a Wimpy Kid . In 2012, Shapiro composed his first animated film, The Pirates! Band of Misfits . He has also written other orchestral works.

Ghostbusters II is the soundtrack album for the film of the same name, released by MCA Records in 1989. The soundtrack includes the Billboard Hot 100 number two hit "On Our Own" performed by Bobby Brown, as well as Run-D.M.C.'s rendition of "Ghostbusters". The film score, Ghostbusters II: Original Motion Picture Score is composed by Randy Edelman. Since the release of the film in 1989, the complete film score was unreleased, until it was finally released on August 13, 2021.

Christoph Bull is a German composer, musician and educator, and a Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) who was the first organist to record a complete commercial album at the Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles California using the Frank Gehry co-designed Glatter-Götz/Rosales organ, 2010's "First & Grand Walt Disney Concert Hall Premiere Recording". Christoph is also the creator of Organica, a multi-media concert and recorded album series that has been performed regularly since April 1999. Dr. Bull has performed on several soundtracks for movies and television series, including the score for the 2016 remake of Ghostbusters.

Music from the Motion Picture: The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn is the soundtrack for the 2011 animated action/adventure film The Adventures of Tintin directed and produced by Steven Spielberg, based on Belgian cartoonist Hergé's comic book series The Adventures of Tintin. The film score is composed by John Williams, which is the first time he had composed the score of a film since Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) as well as his first score for an animated film. The score was released on 21 October 2011 by Sony Classical Records. Williams received a nomination for Best Original Score at the 84th Academy Awards for his work in the film.
