The Seventh Kerala Legislative Assembly Council of Ministers in K. Karunakaran's third ministry, was a Kerala Council of Ministers (Kerala Cabinet), the executive wing of Kerala state government, led by Indian National Congress leader K. Karunakaran from 24 May 1982 to 25 March 1987. It comprised 18 ministers, all belonging to the United Democratic Front. The ministry was formed in the aftermath of the victory of the United Democratic Front in the 1982 assembly elections.

Indian Union Muslim League Leader C.H. Mohammed Koya was sworn as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state, a post he continued to hold until his untimely demise on 28 September 1983. Fellow party leader K. Avukaderkutty Naha was sworn in as the 3rd (and as of now the last) Deputy Chief Minister on 24 October 1983 and held the post until the dissolution of the ministry.

The Ministry underwent periodic reshuffling in 1983 and 1986.

As an Indian Union Muslim League minister in the 1967–69 Namboodiripad ministry, Naha oversaw the creation of the Malappuram District in central Kerala (1969). Naha, with minister M. N. Govindan Nair and official C. K. Kochukoshy, also devised the 'One Lakh Houses' scheme in Kerala.

The Kerala Legislative Assembly election of 1967 was held to constitute the fourth assembly in Kerala.

National Democratic Party (NDP) was a political party in Kerala, India that existed from 1974 to 1996 and was the political arm of Nair Service Society. NDP was formed with the aim of reservation of jobs for the economically backward sections of the Nairs. Founded by Kidangoor Gopalakrishna Pillai (General Secretary of NSS), K. P. Ramachandran Nair, Kalathil Velayudhan Nair and Aranmula Kesavan Nair in 1974.

United Front, known until 1971 as Mini Front (1970–1971) and as Maxi Front (1971–1979) thereafter, was a coalition of political parties in Kerala state, India, which was the ruling combine in the state from 1970 to 1979. The coalition was formed by five political parties immediately before the 1970 Kerala Legislative Assembly election. It saw the inclusion a few other parties in the following years.

LDF and UDF, most of whose constituent parties were part of the erstwhile United Front. CPI(M)-led LDF to win the election, after winning 93 seats altogether. E. K. Nayanar was sworn in as the Chief Minister on 26 March 1980
