Time Lines is an album by American jazz pianist Andrew Hill recorded in 2005 and released on the Blue Note label in 2006. [1] The album features Hill's final studio recordings.
The albums contains several tributes. The track "Malachi" is dedicated to fellow Chicagoan musician Malachi Favors, who died in January 2004. Favors played bass on Hill's 1960 debut recording So in Love . The track "For Emilio", commissioned by Chamber Music America, was written in honor of painter Emilio Cruz, who died in December 2004, having also lived in Chicago. [2]

The Allmusic review by Thom Jurek awarded the album 3½ stars and stated "Hill is still every bit the creative and technically gifted musician he was back in the day; perhaps more so... Hill's gift lies in his ability to employ the tradition exactly as he means to, yet he also seems to look for the mystery inherent in the improvisation and the dialogue of musicians with one another... Point of Departure is a studio album by American jazz pianist and composer Andrew Hill, recorded in 1964 and released in 1965 on the Blue Note label. It features Hill in a sextet with alto saxophonist Eric Dolphy, tenor saxophonist Joe Henderson, trumpeter Kenny Dorham, bassist Richard Davis and drummer Tony Williams.
So In Love is the debut studio album by American jazz pianist Andrew Hill, recorded in 1959 and released by Warwick Records in 1960.
Compulsion!!!!! is a studio album by American jazz pianist Andrew Hill. It was originally released in 1967 under the Blue Note Label as BST 84217. In its album review, Billboard wrote of Compulsion!!!!!, "The wild, yet disciplined piano of Andre [sic] Hill is the driving force behind this strange and moving record." It was remastered by Rudy Van Gelder in 2006. Featured musicians include trumpeter Freddie Hubbard, tenor saxophonist John Gilmore, bassist Cecil McBee and drummer Joe Chambers.
Sacred Ground is an album by David Murray released on the Canadian Justin Time label. Recorded in 2006 and released in 2007 the album features performances by Murray, Lafayette Gilchrist, Ray Drummond, and Andrew Cyrille which were composed for the soundtrack for Marco Williams' film Banished (2007) on American counties in the South and Midwest that expelled blacks between Reconstruction and the Great Depression. The album features Cassandra Wilson on two tracks singing lyrics composed by Ishmael Reed.
A Jackson in Your House is a 1969 album by the Art Ensemble of Chicago recorded for the French BYG Actuel label. It features performances by Lester Bowie, Joseph Jarman, Roscoe Mitchell and Malachi Favors Maghostut. When issued on CD by Affinity in 1989, the track "The Waltz" was replaced by a six-minute live excerpt entitled "Hey Friend" which has never reappeared on any subsequent reissue.
Live in Paris is a double live album by the Art Ensemble of Chicago recorded in Paris and first released on the BYG Actuel label in Japan as two separate volumes in 1974. It was issued on CD by Charly Records under the title 'Live In Paris' presumably to avoid confusion with the Delmark 'Live At Delmark Hall' album, and then later issued in the US, with the same artwork and design, by Fuel 2000 Records in the US. It features performances by Lester Bowie, Joseph Jarman, Roscoe Mitchell, Malachi Favors Maghostut, Fontella Bass and Don Moye. Despite reissues identifying it as "Live In Paris" and claiming a date of 5 October 1969, it was actually a radio broadcast from performances in Chateauvailon on 13 August 1970.

The album had a complicated release history- it was originally scheduled for issuance in 1967 as BST 84233, but was held back from release until 1975, when the tracks appeared under Sam Rivers' name, as part of a double LP set called Involution, which combined them with tracks recorded under Rivers' leadership. The first release of this material under Hill's name did not occur until 1995 as part of the Mosaic box set The Complete Blue Note Andrew Hill Sessions (1963-66). The album features Hill with saxophonist Sam Rivers, bassist Walter Booker and drummer J.C. Moses performing six of his originals. In 2007, two alternate takes were added to the CD release. The shorter take of "Violence" was initially chosen as the master track for that piece.
