Alfred Yi Cho is a Chinese-American electrical engineer,inventor,and optical engineer. He is the Adjunct Vice President of Semiconductor Research at Alcatel-Lucent's Bell Labs. He is known as the "father of molecular beam epitaxy";a technique he developed at that facility in the late 1960s. He is also the co-inventor,with Federico Capasso of quantum cascade lasers at Bell Labs in 1994.

He is a former professor of mechanical engineering at the School of Mechanical Engineering,Purdue University and Director,Nanoscale Transport Research Group-Purdue University. He currently teaches at the University of California,Los Angeles. He took his Bachelor of Science and doctorate at Cornell University in 1991 and 1998,respectively. Fisher became the chair of mechanical and aerospace engineering department at University of California,Los Angeles,starting July 1,2018.
Amit Goyal is a SUNY Distinguished Professor and a SUNY Empire Innovation Professor at SUNY-Buffalo. He leads the Laboratory for Heteroepitaxial Growth of Functional Materials &Devices. He is also Director of the New York State Center of Excellence in Plastics Recycling Research &Innovation,an externally funded center with initial funding of $4.5M for three years at SUNY-Buffalo. He is the founding director of the multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary RENEW Institute at SUNY-Buffalo in Buffalo,New York and served as director from 2015-2021. RENEW is an internally funded research institute at SUNY-Buffalo. For his contributions to UB,in 2019,he was awarded the University at Buffalo or SUNY-Buffalo President's Medal,which recognizes “outstanding scholarly or artistic achievements,humanitarian acts,contributions of time or treasure,exemplary leadership or any other major contribution to the development of the University at Buffalo and the quality of life in the UB community.”This is one of the highest recognitions given at the university.
Jerry M. Woodall is a professor of electrical and computer engineering at the University of California,Davis who is widely known for his revolutionary work on LEDs and semiconductors. Over the course of his career,he has published close to 400 scientific articles and his work has directly contributed to the development of major technologies that are used around the world,such as TVs,optical fibers,and mobile phones. Woodall currently holds over 80 U.S. patents for a variety of inventions and has received prestigious awards from IBM,NASA,and the U.S. President for his contributions to science,technology,and humanity.
Mark G. Allen is a professor specializing in microfabrication,nanotechnology,and microelectromechanical systems at the University of Pennsylvania,where he is currently Alfred Fitler Moore Professor of Electrical and Systems Engineering Director of the Singh Center for Nanotechnology,and leader of the Microsensor and Microactuator Research Group. Prior to his joining the University of Pennsylvania in 2013,he was with the Georgia Institute of Technology,where he was Regents' Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the J.M. Pettit Professor in Microelectronics. While at Georgia Tech,he also held multiple administrative positions,including Senior Vice Provost for Research and Innovation;Acting Director of the Georgia Electronic Design Center;and Inaugural Executive Director of Georgia Tech's Institute for Electronics and Nanotechnology. He was editor in chief of the Journal of Micromechanics and Microengineering (JMM),and currently serves on the editorial board of JMM as well as the journal Microsystems and Nanoengineering.
Rakesh Agrawal is a chemical engineer known for contributions to separations,cryogenic gas separation and liquefaction,and for contributions to renewable energy including the conversion of biomass to chemicals and fuels,inorganic solar cell fabrication,and the synergistic use of solar energy. He is the Winthrop E. Stone Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University in West Lafayette,Indiana.
Brian Norton is a solar energy applications researcher and technologist. As president of Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) from 2003 to 2018,he was an advocate for diversity of higher education in Ireland. He has also been associated with the relocation of DIT from a multiplicity of scattered buildings to a single city centre campus in the Grangegorman neighbourhood of Dublin and the creation of the Technological University Dublin,Ireland's first Technological University.
Stacey Bent is a professor of chemical engineering and vice provost for graduate education and postdoctoral affairs (VPGE) at Stanford University. She is the Jagdeep and Roshni Singh Professor of Engineering,the Bert and Candace Forbes University Fellow in Undergraduate Education,and a member of the National Academy of Engineering. She was the director of the TomKat Center for Sustainable Energy and a senior associate dean in the Stanford School of Engineering until 2019. She is best known for contributions to semiconductor processing,materials chemistry,and surface science. Her work has been applied toward applications in semiconductors,solar cells,and catalysts.
Nancy W. Y. Ho is a Chinese-American molecular biologist who was the recipient of the 2013 USA National Medal of Technology and Innovation,awarded to her by President Barack Obama. The award is the highest honor for technological achievement bestowed by the President of the United States.
