Maumee is a city in Lucas County, Ohio, United States. Located along the Maumee River, it is about 10 miles southwest of Toledo. The population was 14,286 at the 2010 census. Maumee was declared an All-America City by the National Civic League in June 2006.
Maumee Bay on Lake Erie is located in the U.S. state of Ohio, just east of the city of Toledo. The bay and the surrounding wetlands form most of the Maumee River basin, and in 1975 part of the area was incorporated into Maumee Bay State Park. The park is not huge, covering 1,450 acres (5.9 km2), but its wetlands feature some of the best bird watching in the United States. The Maumee Bay area is a popular vacation spot in the Midwest, featuring several resorts and a golf course.

Harry S Truman College, called Truman College and formerly called Mayfair College, is a part of City Colleges of Chicago. It offers multiple 2-year associate degrees, as well as occupational training in a number of fields. Located at 1145 West Wilson Avenue in the Uptown neighborhood, the school was named in honor of U.S. President Harry S. Truman, nominated for the vice presidency in the 1944 Democratic National Convention at the Chicago Stadium. Nominated to join the Franklin D. Roosevelt Democratic ticket, Truman was a proponent of public colleges and universities. Truman is the largest of the City Colleges of Chicago with a yearly enrollment of over 23,000 students, and has the largest English as a second language and GED program in Illinois.

Mary Manse College was a Catholic institution of higher education located in Toledo, Ohio from 1922 until 1975. The college was founded in 1922 at the request of the Bishop of Toledo, Samuel Stritch. Operated by the Ursuline Order of nuns, Mary Manse opened in September 1922 with thirty students. The Ohio State Board of Education recognized the school as degree-granting institution in 1926, and received accreditation by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools in 1933. Mary Manse offered degrees in arts and sciences, music, medical technology, and nursing education. The school operated as a women's college until 1971, at which time it became coeducational.
Empire Beauty School is a large system of for-profit cosmetology schools in the United States. Headquartered in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, it is the largest system of cosmetology schools in the country. Founded in 1946, it currently has over 109 schools nationwide, after purchasing the training academies of Regis Corporation in 2007. It trains students as cosmetologists, estheticians, electrologists, hair stylists and colorists, makeup artists, manicurists and nail technicians.
Spencer-Sharples Local School District was a small, impoverished district about six miles (10 km) west of Toledo, Ohio. Through a unique act of the Ohio General Assembly, Spencer-Sharples was absorbed into the non-contiguous Toledo Public Schools on Jan. 1, 1968.
Hoban Dominican High School was one of seven all-female Catholic high school located in Cleveland, Ohio. It was located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland. The academic environment provided a 12 to 1 student to faculty ratio with an average of 23 students per class. 96% of Hoban Dominican students were Catholic and represented over 70 parishes. A superior faculty had dedicated itself to educating the young women of Hoban Dominican High School.

Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway is a racino in Dayton, Ohio, United States. It was originally established in 1959 as Raceway Park in Toledo, Ohio, hosting car racing and thoroughbred racing. It is owned by Gaming and Leisure Properties and operated by Penn National Gaming.
The 2009 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship was a golf tournament contested from May 26 to May 30, 2009 at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio. It was the 71st NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship. The team championship was won by the Texas A&M Aggies who won their first national championship by defeating the Arkansas Razorbacks in the championship match play round 3–2. This was the first tournament to feature a match play playoff to determine the national champion. The individual national championship was won by Matt Hill from North Carolina State University.
Marinello Schools of Beauty was a private, for-profit cosmetology school owned by B&H Education, Inc. with as many as 56 locations throughout California, Connecticut, Kansas, Massachusetts, Nevada, and Utah. The school was accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts. It closed on February 5, 2016, following the U.S. Department of Education's decision to disallow the school's access to federal financial aid.
