The Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame was established to help recognise outstanding services and overall contribution made to the sport of Australian rules football in Tasmania. Any participant of the sport, including players, umpires, media personalities and coaches, may be inducted. A physical hall was established in 2005 after the Tasmanian Community Fund provided a $50,000 grant to assist AFL Tasmania and the Launceston City Council with establishment of a permanent facility at York Park. The decision to locate the Hall of Fame at the ground was because the site had recently been redeveloped and was positioned as the "true home of Tasmanian football". AFL Tasmania initiated the Hall of Fame nomination process, with a number of clubs, players and grounds nominated and accepted into the Hall of Fame since 2005. The public Hall of Fame opened to the public on Saturday 21 February 2009.

The Kid from Kansas is a 1941 American drama set on a fictional island banana plantation owned by Juan Garcia Pancho. Foreman Andy befriends newcomer Kansas, but Pancho is leery of the stranger. Sabotage and seemingly bad luck befall Pancho and the other island plantation owners, coincidentally at the same time Kansas arrives on the scene. Fruit dealer Lee Walker announces a drop in prices. Before it can be taken to market, Pancho's entire crop is burned by an arsonist, and a plantation worker dies in the fire. The railroad tracks are destroyed and the workers call for a strike. Someone deliberately introduces an imported strain of banana fungus on all the plantations. Pancho is certain Kansas is involved. As things go from bad to worse, it is revealed that the chain of events were engineered by Walker, and that Kansas is a special undercover agent sent to investigate.

She is believed to be the last person to see Col. J. A. Crosley alive and is suspected of his murder. She inadvertently crosses paths with three vaudeville performers Pancho, Blimp and Rusty who falls in love with her. Hale blows her cover by revealing her assignment to the man she believes is Major Colin Reeves, but is in reality the German spy Von Metz. Pancho, Blimp and Rusty run interference for her and capture the real spies.
