"Trigger Bang" is a song by English singer-songwriter Lily Allen,featuring English rapper Giggs. It was released on 12 December 2017 as the lead single from Allen's fourth studio album, No Shame . It is her first official release since her third studio album, Sheezus ,and the first official single released by Allen since "As Long as I Got You". [2] The song was teased and leaked a night prior to its official release. [3]
In 2015,Allen began writing songs for No Shame in a rented house in Los Angeles. Allen then set up her own studio space in London,where the majority of the album was made. [4] Upon returning to London and setting up her studio space,Allen began associating with British rapper Giggs. Allen stated that her friendship with Giggs helped her "find her feet" during the album's initial recording process. After Allen's performance at V Festival,she traveled to Giggs' studio where she played him songs from No Shame,whilst Allen was there Giggs wrote a verse for the song "Trigger Bang". [5]
"Trigger Bang" is a piano-tinged hip pop [6] song that has a length of three minutes and 32 seconds. It is in the key of A flat minor,and moves at a tempo of 78 beats per minute in a 4/4 time signature. [7] The song contains a chilled-out sound [8] and toned-down percussion instrumental. [9] It lyrically reminisces about growing up [10] and battling substance abuse. [11]
Robin Murray of Clash praised the song,writing that "the pairing [of Allen and Giggs] works effortlessly –Lily Allen's nonchalance versus the rapper's emphatic flow." She additionally called it "typically tongue in cheek but with whipsmart wordplay". [12]
An accompanying music video for "Trigger Bang" directed by Myles Whittingham was released on 24 January 2018. It features the singers and depicts Allen in three different ages,with two actress portraying younger versions of her. [13] The video also references the videos of her previous singles "LDN" and "22". [14]

Lily Rose Beatrice Allen is an English singer-songwriter and actress. She is the daughter of actor Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen. Her music career began in 2005 when she made some of her vocal recordings public on Myspace and the publicity resulted in airplay on BBC Radio 1 and a contract with Regal Recordings. Her first mainstream single,"Smile",reached number one on the UK Singles Chart in July 2006. Her debut record,Alright,Still,was well received,selling over 2.6 million copies worldwide and bringing Allen nominations at the Grammy Awards,the Brit Awards,and the MTV Video Music Awards.

The mixtape includes guest appearances from American rappers 2 Chainz,Young Thug and Lil Duke,alongside Dave,Footsie,D Double E,Popcaan and Donae'o. No Shame is the fourth studio album by English singer Lily Allen. It was released on 8 June 2018 by Parlophone. Following the release of Sheezus (2014),Allen suffered from an identity crisis and did not connect with the music she had been creating. This was followed by a breakdown in Allen's marriage. Following Allen's divorce,she began working on new music which saw her writing about things that she had been affected by including the relationship with herself,her children,her ex-husband and substance abuse. Recording for the album began in Los Angeles in 2015 before Allen set up her own studio in London and continued recording through until 2018. The sessions featured contributions from producers such as Fryars and Mark Ronson,whilst the final track listing featured guest appearances from artists including Giggs,Burna Boy and Lady Chann.
