The men's hockey team competed in Group A. It finished the round robin as the latest conceding 60 goals without scoring a goal at all. The team finally placed twelfth after playing two more matches. The only goals for Turkey's team in the Games came in the play-offs from Emre Elevli against Slovenia [27] and from Kemal Burkay Altuntaş against South Korea. [28]

The biathlon is a winter sport that combines cross-country skiing and rifle shooting. It is treated as a race, with contestants skiing through a cross-country trail whose distance is divided into shooting rounds. The shooting rounds are not timed per se, but depending on the competition, missed shots result in extra distance or time being added to the contestant's total.

The XXV Winter Universiade, took place in Erzurum, Turkey between 27 January to 6 February. Erzurum is the city at the highest altitude in Turkey, at 1,850 m (6,070 ft), and has over 320 cultural landmarks. Located in Eastern Anatolia Region, it is a city on the traditional silk road and has been governed by many cultures over the centuries. The Erzurum Ice Hockey Arena, located on the Cemal Gürsel Sports Campus, was newly built with an ice rink of 60m x 30m and 3,000 seats for spectators.

Two events, the curling mixed doubles tournament and the men's normal hill ski jumping competition, held their preliminary rounds on 8 February. The opening ceremony took place one day later on 9 February. The last day of competition and the closing ceremony was on 25 February.

The 2024 FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships were held from 5 to 11 February 2024 in Planica, Slovenia.
