União Desportivo de Santo Crucifixo is a football club based in the village of Coculi in Cape Verde and covers the parish of Santo Crucifixo, they currently play in the Santo Antão North Premier Division. It is based in the village of Janela, in theeastern part of the island of Santo Antão near the island's easternmost point .

Coculi is a town in the northern part of the island of Santo Antão, Cape Verde. It is situated on the river Ribeira Grande, 4 km southwest of the town Ribeira Grande and 17 km north of the island capital Porto Novo. About 400 meters to its west is the confluence of Ribeira de Chã das Pedras.

Cape Verde or Cabo Verde, officially the Republic of Cabo Verde, is an island country spanning an archipelago of 10 volcanic islands in the central Atlantic Ocean. It forms part of the Macaronesia ecoregion, along with the Azores, Canary Islands, Madeira, and the Savage Isles. In ancient times these islands were referred to as "the Islands of the Blessed" or the "Fortunate Isles". Located 570 kilometres (350 mi) west of the Cape Verde Peninsula off the coast of Northwest Africa, the islands cover a combined area of slightly over 4,000 square kilometres (1,500 sq mi).

Santo Crucifixo is a freguesia of Cape Verde. It covers the southern part of the municipality of Ribeira Grande, on the island of Santo Antão. The seat of the parish is Coculi. The parish covers much of the Ribeira Grande valley.

History

UD Santo Crucifixo became a registered club in 2014 and started playing in the Santo Antão North Second Division for the 2014-15 season. In 2016, they spent their second season in the Second Division and would be the club's most successful, all nine rounds were won and scored 38 goals and became the recent club from the north of the island to play in the Premier Division. They participated for the first time in the 2016-17 season. On December 18, Santo Crucifixo had a two match winning streak. On March 18, the club defeated UD Janela and was their fourth win. The club finished third with 14 points, had 4 wins, 2 draw sand 14 goals scored. In the 2017-18 season, the first three rounds that Santo Crucifixo did were better, they underwent a three match winning streak with the latter defeating the north of the island's top three club Paulense who recently lost most of the strength and was first place for the third round. Their recent wins were a 3-1 win over Beira Mar and on February 17. The club originally defeated Pailense 1-2, in mid-April, the association knew that the club fielded an ineligible player, they lost the eight round match to Paulense. A goal draw with Rosariense was made at the 9th round. A possible chance for a championship title and a national participation was lost completely. The club finished third for the second time, their best position and lost a chance to win a title and out from national participation. Santo Crucifixo scored 19 goals, the most in the Premier Division which never done before.

Paulense Desportivo Clube

Paulense Desportivo Clube is a football club that had played in the Premier division and plays in the Santo Antão Island League North Zone in Cape Verde. It is based in the town of Pombas, the seat of Paúl in the northeastern part of the island of Santo Antão and is being the main club of Vale do Paul. Its current manager is Alberto Teixeira. Its nickname is Encarnados, the same nickname of Portugal's S.L. Benfica and many other clubs affiliated to Benfica. Since the introduction of the Second Division in the 2012-13 season, the club are one of two that have never been relegated, the other is Os Foguetões.

Beira-Mar Desportivo Clube or Clube Desportivo Beira-Mar is a football club that had played in the Premier division and plays in the Santo Antão Island League South Zone in Cape Verde. It is based in the town of Ribeira Grande in the northwestern part of the island of Santo Antão.

Estádio João Serra is a multi-use stadium in of Ponta do Sol, Cape Verde. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 2,000. The stadium has seat rows in the south side and is located south of the town center. Every club of the Santo Antão Premier and Second Division including Janela plays at the stadium along with Rosariense, Paulense, Beira Mar and Os Foguetões. Also the stadium is home to Solpontense.

Estádio João Serra is a multi-use stadium in Santo Antão, Cape Verde. Its location is south of the urban area. It is near the foot of the island's northern mountains and is nearby a newly built urban area. The stadium is operated by the Santo Antão North Regional Football Association (ARFSAN) and has its offices there. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Solpontense as well as Irmãos Unidos, other football clubs from the north of the island not based in the town play at the stadium including Paulense from Paul and Sinagoga located between Ribeira Grande and Paul and other parts of the two northern municipalities. The stadium holds 2,000 people. It is named for João Serra, its size is 100x65 m and its grass is artificial.

Clube Desportivo Os Foguetões is a football club that had played in the Premier division and plays in the Santo Antão Island League South Zone in Cape Verde. It is based in the settlement of Eito in Paul in the northeastern part of the island of Santo Antão.

Coculi has its own football (soccer) field located to the northeast near the banks of Ribeira Grande, they partly trains at that field.
