The 2005 UEFA Women's Championship, also referred to as UEFA Women's Euro 2005, was a football tournament for women held from 5 June to 19 June 2005 in Lancashire, England and Cheshire, England. The UEFA Women's Championship is a regular tournament involving European national teams from countries affiliated to UEFA, the European governing body, who have qualified for the competition. The competition aims to determine which national women's team is the best in Europe.
The England women's national football team, also known as the Lionesses, have been governed by the Football Association (FA) since 1993, having been previously administered by the Women's Football Association (WFA). England played its first international match in November 1972 against Scotland. Although most national football teams represent a sovereign state, England is permitted by FIFA statutes, as a member of the United Kingdom's Home Nations, to maintain a national side that competes in all major tournaments, with the exception of the Women's Olympic Football Tournament.
The Sweden women's national football team represents Sweden at international women's association football competitions and is controlled by the Swedish Football Association.
Jan Stefan Rehn is a Swedish football manager and former professional player who played as a midfielder. As a player he represented Djurgårdens IF, Everton, IFK Göteborg, and Lausanne Sports, winning a combined six Swedish Championships with the two Swedish clubs. He won 45 caps for the Sweden national team and represented his country at UEFA Euro 1992 and the 1994 FIFA World Cup. He also represented the Sweden Olympic team at the 1988 Summer Olympics.
Carl Johan Petter Hansson is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a defender. He most notably represented Halmstads BK, SC Heerenveen, Rennes, and Monaco during a career that spanned between 1994 and 2012. A full international between 2001 and 2009, he won 43 caps for the Sweden national team and represented his country at the 2004 and 2008 UEFA European Championships as well as the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
Rachel Aba Yankey, OBE is an English former footballer who played for the England national team. She played as a left winger or forward. She left Arsenal after 13 years in December 2016 at the end of her contract. She is ranked among the Arsenal Ladies Legends.
Casey Jean Stoney is an English professional football manager and former player who is the head coach of San Diego Wave FC. A versatile defender, she was capped more than 100 times for the England women's national football team since making her debut in 2000. After being a non-playing squad member at UEFA Women's Euro 2005, she was an integral part of the England teams which reached the UEFA Women's Euro 2009 final and the quarter finals of the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2007 and 2011. In 2012, Stoney succeeded Faye White as the England captain and also became captain of the newly formed Team GB squad for the 2012 London Olympics. She ended her playing career at Liverpool Ladies. She was appointed as the first head coach of the newly-formed Manchester United Women on 8 June 2018.
Anita Amma Ankyewah Asante is an English football coach and former defender or midfielder who is the first-team coach at Bristol City. Asante is of Ghanaian descent, the appellation "Amma" is of Akan origin, given to girls born on Saturday. She obtained 71 caps for the English national team and was selected in the Great Britain squad for the 2012 London Olympics.
Niklas Lars Roger Gudmundsson is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder or forward. Starting off his career with Halmstads BK in the early 1980s, he went on to represent Blackburn Rovers, Ipswich Town, Malmö FF, and IF Elfsborg before retiring at Ängelholms FF in 2007. A full international between 1991 and 1995, he won seven caps for the Sweden national team. He represented the Sweden Olympic team at the 1992 Summer Olympics.

The following is a list of squads for all twelve national teams that competed at the 2017 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. Each national team had to submit a final squad of 23 players, three of whom had to be goalkeepers.
Each national team will submit a squad of 23 players for UEFA Women's Euro 2022, three of whom must be goalkeepers. If a player is injured or ill severely enough to prevent their participation in the tournament before the team's first match, they can be replaced by another player. The squad list must be published no later than 10 days before the tournament's opening match.
