Uriel Francisco Canjura Artiga (born 12 September 2000) is a Salvadoran badminton player. [4] [5] He is a bronze medalist at the 2023 Pan American Games; and also the silver medalists at the 2023 and 2024 Pan Am Championships.

Career

Canjura started playing badminton at the age of 9, when his stepfather Andrés Ardón, who was also a member of the Salvadoran Badminton Federation, became his first coach. Initially, he used to play soccer but later switched to badminton. Developing his skills in the sport, he went on to represent El Salvador at the 2018 Youth Olympics, where he was also chosen to be the flag bearer for his country. He studied general high school at the Agustina Charvin School in San Salvador and graduated in 2018. In his career so far, he has won international titles in El Salvador, Brazil, and Suriname, besides winning a silver medal at the Pan American Championships in 2024. [6] Canjura qualified to compete at the 2024 Summer Olympics, [7] [8] and became the first ever Salvadoran badminton player at the Olympics. [9] He was assigned as the country flag bearer during the parade of nations in the 2024 Summer Olympics opening ceremony. [10]

Rodrigo Daniel Pacheco Carrillo is a Peruvian badminton player. Pacheco started playing badminton when he was 6 years old at the club Regatas Lima. He had made his debut at the Pan Am Junior Championships in 1996, and became the senior national team member in 2001. He was the bronze medalists at the Pan American Games, in the men's singles event in 2007, and also in the mixed doubles event in 2007 and 2011. In 2010, he won triple gold medals at the South American Games in the men's doubles, mixed doubles, and mixed team event. He competed for Peru at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Ygor Coelho de Oliveira is a Brazilian badminton player. Oliveira placed 27th in the world junior ranking and went on to compete at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China. He won his first senior international title at the 2014 Puerto Rico International in the men's singles event. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and became the first Brazil's male Olympic badminton player. He clinched three gold medals at the 2018 South American Games in the men's singles, doubles, and team event. Coelho won a gold medal in the men's singles at the 2019 Lima Pan American Games.

Job Castillo Galindo is a Mexican badminton player. He won the men's doubles title at the 2022 Pan Am Championships partnering Luis Montoya. He also claimed two bronze medals at the Pan American Games, in 2015 with Lino Muñoz, and in 2023 with Montoya.

Jonathan Josué Solís Rivas is a Guatemalan badminton player. He won the gold medal in the men's doubles at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games. He also part of Guatemala winning team at the 2010 and 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games. Solís was the bronze medalists at the 2023 Pan American Games in the men's doubles with Aníbal Marroquín; 2013 and 2018 Pan Am Championships partnered with Rodolfo Ramírez; also in the mixed doubles event in 2018 and 2021 Pan Am Championships with Diana Corleto.

Nikté Alejandra Sotomayor Ovando is a Guatemalan badminton player. Haramara Gaitán Fausto is a Mexican badminton player. She is three-times women's singles gold medalists at the Central American and Caribbean Games, winning the title in 2014, 2018 and 2023. She also won the women's doubles title in 2014, and clinched the team title in 2010 and 2023. In the Pan Am Championships, Gaitán won the bronze medals in the women's singles in 2018 and in the women's doubles in 2023. She competed at the 2015, 2019 Pan American Games, and 2020 Summer Olympics.

Luis Armando Montoya Navarro is a Mexican badminton player. Partnering Job Castillo, he won the gold medal at the 2022 Pan Am Championships, and the bronze medal at the 2023 Pan American Games. Anuoluwapo Juwon Opeyori is a Nigerian badminton player. He started playing badminton together with his brother in 2005, and later he was selected to join Nigeria senior national team in 2017. Opeyori won the African Championships and African Games in the singles event in 2019. Vinson Chiu is an American badminton player. He won a silver medal with his partner Joshua Yuan in the men's doubles at the 2022 Pan Am Championships. Chiu also won a silver and a bronze at the 2016 Pan Am Junior Championships in the boys' doubles and mixed doubles. Chiu currently plays mixed doubles with Jennie Gai. They won their first title together at the Mexican International Challenge in 2021. The duo won the silver medal in the mixed doubles at the 2023 Pan American Games.

Juliana Viana Vieira is a Brazilian badminton player. She made her Olympic debut at the 2024 Summer Olympics where she represented Brazil in the women's singles event.

Inés Lucía Castillo Salazar is a Peruvian badminton player. She represented Peru in women's singles at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Jaime Nicolás Aránguiz Urrutia is a Chilean para-badminton player. He won gold in the men's singles WH2 event at the 2023 Parapan American Games. He became the first Chilean para-badminton player to compete in the Paralympics when he made his debut at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris.
