Varner is an unincorporated community in Lincoln County, Arkansas, United States. Varner is located southeast of Little Rock.
In 1952, Varner had three residents. [2]
In 1958, Varner, which had five residents, had a crossroads, gas station and a store. [3]
By 1975, parts of the area were within the boundary of the Cummins Unit. [4] The center of the community is now entirely in ADC land. [5]
The Cummins/Varner Volunteer Fire Department provides fire services. [6] The station is along Arkansas Highway 388. [7]

Wrightsville is a city in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. Its population was 1,542 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Conway Metropolitan Statistical Area. Located on Highway 365, Wrightsville existed as an unincorporated community for more than a century before it was incorporated late in the 20th century. Since 1981, it has been home to a major Arkansas Department of Corrections facility, which is the principal employer.

It is located along U.S. Route 65, near Grady, Gould, and Varner, 28 miles (45 km) south of Pine Bluff, and 60 miles (97 km) southeast of Little Rock.
The Varner Unit is a high-security state prison for men of the Arkansas Department of Correction in Varner, Choctaw Township, unincorporated Lincoln County, Arkansas, United States. It is located along U.S. Highway 65, near Grady, and 28 miles (45 km) south of Pine Bluff. The prison can house over 1,600 prisoners, and it includes a 468-bed supermax facility. The supermax and non-supermax facilities are separate from one another.
Arkansas Highway 11 is a designation for three state highways in Arkansas. One segment of 36.23 miles (58.31 km) runs from US Route 63 (US 63) at Pansy to Huff Island Public Use Area near Grady. A second segment of 12.83 miles (20.65 km) begins just across the Arkansas River at the eastern terminus of Highway 88 at Reydell and runs north to US 65 west of De Witt. It is operated by the Arkansas Department of Correction (ADC). Tucker is one of the state of Arkansas's "parent units" for male prisoners; it serves as one of several units of initial assignment for processed male prisoners. It is in proximity to, but not within, the Tucker census-designated place.
