Victor Hogan (born 25 July 1989) is a South African track and field athlete who competes in the discus throw. He has a personal best of 67.62m thrown in Stellenbosch at the South African championships making him ten-time South African Champion, and three-time African Champion.
Born in Vredenburg, [1] he took part in discus competitions from a young age: he participated at the 2006 Gymnasiade, won at the 2007 African Junior Athletics Championships, and came fourth at the 2008 World Junior Championships in Athletics. [2] [3] His best throw of 65.52 m with the lighter junior discus in 2008 ranked him as the fifth best junior ever at the time. [4]
Hogan established himself on the national senior circuit in 2010 with three wins on the Yellow Pages Series and his first national title. He claimed his first major medal at the 2010 African Championships in Athletics soon after, taking the bronze medal. [5] He represented Africa at the 2010 IAAF Continental Cup, coming eighth. [6] He won a second South African title in 2011, but this was marred by an incident where an official was struck by Hogan's discus on the field. [7]
Hogan cleared sixty metres with the discus for the first time in 2011 and was the runner-up at the 2011 All-Africa Games with a throw of 62.60 metres. [8] He threw a best of 62.76 m in Bilbao in June 2012 and went on to take the gold medal at the 2012 African Championships the following month. [9] However, he did not make the South African Olympic squad because he had not achieved the qualifying standard of 63 metres. [10]
In 2016, Hogan threw a new personal best of 67.62m, the furthest distance ever thrown at a South African Championship, qualifying for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Hogan retrieved a bronze medal at the Doha Diamond Leuague in Qatar with a distance of 65.59m, and a silver medal at the Rome Diamond league with a distance of 64.04m. Hogan also won the 20th African Senior Championships with a distance of 61.68m, making him three-time African Champion.
Rosa Andreína Rodríguez Pargas is a Venezuelan hammer thrower. She is the Venezuelan record holder for the event with her personal best of 72.83 metres, set in May 2012, which she improved to 73.64 in 2013. Rodríguez represented Venezuela at the World Championships in Athletics in 2007, 2009, 2013 and 2015.

Jackson Gill is a New Zealand track and field athlete who competes in the shot put. Gill throws with his right hand, using the spin technique. In 2010, he won gold in the shot put at the World Junior Championships at the age of 15 years, 213 days, which made him the youngest ever male gold medalist at the World Junior Championships. In 2012, he defended his title at the 2012 World Junior Championships.

Rashid Shafi Al-Dosari is a Qatari track and field athlete who competed in the discus throw. He has represented Qatar at the Summer Olympics on two occasions, making his debut in 2000 and reaching the final at the 2008 Summer Olympics. He was also a finalist at the 2007 World Championships in Athletics. In 2003 he was banned from competing for two years due to his refusal to be tested for doping.
Jorge Fernández is a Cuban track and field athlete who competes in the discus throw. He won the gold medal in the event at the Pan American Games in 2011 and is a two-time winner at the Central American and Caribbean Championships in Athletics. His personal best throw is 66.50 m, set in Lausanne in 2014.
Ryan Keith Whiting is an American track and field athlete who competes in the shot put and has a personal record of 22.28 meters outdoors and 22.35 meters indoors. His biggest international senior success to date is first place at the 2012 World Indoor Championships. He represented the United States at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics, 2013 World Championships in Athletics, 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships and the 2012 London Olympics.

He is a member of BM&F Bovespa's track club and is trained by João Paulo Alves da Cunha. He is the Brazilian record holder in the discus throw (65.55 m). He is the second highest ranked South American discus thrower after Jorge Balliengo and has won straight titles at the Brazil championships since 2005.
Syrine Ebondo is a Tunisian track and field athlete who competes in the pole vault. She is one of Africa's top pole vaulters and is a seven-time African champion. Her personal best of 4.21 metres, set in 2006, was the Tunisian record for the event until it was surpassed by Dorra_Mahfoudhi in Rabat 2019.
Geisa Rafaela Arcanjo is a Brazilian athlete. She was a finalist at the 2012 Summer Olympics, finishing sixth. Her personal best for the event is 19.02 metres. She was the 2012 gold medallist at the Ibero-American Championships in Athletics. Arcanjo initially won at the 2010 World Junior Championships in Athletics but was disqualified for doping.

Stephen Ogochukwu Mozia is a US-born Nigerian shot putter. He is a three-time African Championships Bronze medallist. He also represented his country at the 2014 and 2016 World Indoor Championships, as well as the 2016 Summer Olympics.
