Villa City is an abandoned community in Lake County, Florida. Founded by George T. King of Massachusetts, it featured dozens of homes and a post office in a citrus growing area in the late 19th century until a hard freeze in February 1895. A historical marker commemorates Villa City. [1]

Maitland is a suburban city in Orange County, Florida, United States, part of the Greater Orlando area. The population was 19,543 at the 2020 census. The area's history is exhibited at the Maitland Historical Museum; the city also hosts the Maitland Art Center, as well as notable examples of Mayan Revival architecture and Fantasy architecture, the Maitland Telephone Museum, and the William H. Waterhouse House Museum. A SunRail station is located in Maitland on Highway 17-92. The city is named for Fort Maitland.

Hamilton Disston was an industrialist and real-estate developer who purchased 4 million acres (16,000 km²) of Florida land in 1881, an area larger than the state of Connecticut, and reportedly the most land ever purchased by a single person in world history. Disston was the son of Pennsylvania-based industrialist Henry Disston who formed Disston & Sons Saw Works, which Hamilton later ran and which was one of the largest saw manufacturing companies in the world.
The Dead River, found in Lake County, Florida, USA, serves as the division between the cities of Tavares and Leesburg. It received its name due to lack of a current. Studies have shown that a simple john boat can remain in nearly the same position if left on the river overnight with less than five feet of drift. The Dead River connects Lake Eustis and Lake Harris. The only roadway to cross the river is U.S. Highway 441/SR 44 near the river's northern mouth toward Lake Eustis. Disney's BoardWalk Resort is a hotel and entertainment complex at the Walt Disney World resort in Bay Lake, Florida, near Orlando. First opened in 1996, the BoardWalk Resort is located in the Epcot Resort Area, alongside Crescent Lake, between Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. The resort is owned and operated by Disney Experiences. The inn and the villas share a common lobby with the rest of the resort. The Inn, Atlantic Dance Hall, and other features of the boardwalk were designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects.

Narcoossee is an unincorporated community in eastern Osceola County, Florida, United States. It is located on the east side of East Lake Tohopekaliga. The only major road which runs through Narcoossee is County Road 15, commonly referred to as Narcoossee Road, which connects to U.S. Route 192. Every spring starting in the mid 1990s, the community held the annual Battle at Narcoossee Mill in Chisolm Park, which was a Civil War reenactment. The event was discontinued in 2024 due to upcoming development at the park taking place soon.

Yukon is a ghost town located within Jacksonville, Florida. The Navy closed the town in July 1963 as it was deemed a flight and safety hazard for nearby Jacksonville Naval Air Station. Nobel Prize Laureate George Smoot was born here in 1945.
Agricola is a former company town in Polk County, Florida, United States that was built in 1907, 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) south-west of Bartow. It is at a mean elevation of 167 feet. The town was built to house employees of food processing business Swift and Company. The town operated a food processing plant and a phosphate mining operation until the 1950s. Residents were exclusively factory workers and their families. The community was self contained and self reliable with shops, schools and houses for the workers and their families. The town lasted up until the 1950s, when the expansion of the phosphate industry ended the need for providing housing for employees. The town residents were offered a decision to purchase and move their homes. Whatever was not moved was destroyed. After the town was destroyed, the area operated as a phosphate mine.
Bereah was a town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The town was situated 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) north-west of Avon Park. Remains include the cemetery of the Corinth Primitive Baptist Church.
Hicoria was a town in Highlands County, Florida. The town was situated 5 miles (8.0 km) south of Lake Placid and was established in the 1890s.

Sumica, alternatively written as SUMICA, was a mill town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The ghost town is commemorated by a historical marker off S.R. 60. There is also a Southwest Florida Water Management District preserve in the area named for the former logging settlement and mill town. Goods from a company store in the town could be purchased with company issued currency, including 25 cent and 5 cent scrip.
Nalaka, sometimes written Nalaca, was a Highlands County, Florida settlement that sprang up as a turpentine industry town in the early 20th century, founded around 1918 and ceasing to exist by 1929.
