The Eveleth Recreation Building, later the Arrow Shirt Factory, is a historic building in Eveleth, Minnesota, United States. It was constructed in 1918 as a municipal gymnasium, with a curling rink on the ground floor and an ice hockey rink on the second floor. At that time the city of Eveleth was flush with tax revenue from the Mesabi Range mining boom, and the population was heavily male from the influx of mine workers. As the gender balance evened out in the 1930s, the building was converted into a garment factory, answering a need for employment opportunities for women and diversifying the local economy.
The Eveleth Manual Training School was the first vocational school in the U.S. state of Minnesota, built in the city of Eveleth in 1914. It was a publicly funded school founded to prepare workers for the increasing mechanization of the local mining industry. The school offered a two-year program for high school and adult males. Initial courses covered sheet metal work, forging, and engine repair. Within a few years classes had expanded to cover woodworking, cabinetry, plumbing, printing, mechanical drafting, and electrical work. In the 1960s and 1970s, the building was used by the Eveleth Independent School District as the "Industrial Arts Building" for 9th through 12th grade students, teaching the skills already noted.
The W.T. Bailey House is a historic house in Virginia, Minnesota, United States. It was built around 1921 in Spanish Colonial Revival style for the founder of Bailey Lumber Mill, the city's second-largest lumber company.
