The WIG30 is a capitalization-weighted stock market index of the thirty major Polish blue chip companies traded on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE). The WIG30 index has been published since 23 September, 2013, based on the value of the portfolio of shares of the 30 largest and most liquid companies on the WSE Main Market. [1] The base value of the index was established on December 28, 2012, and amounted to 2,582.98 points. The index is published alongside WIG20 index.

WIG30 is a price-type index, which means that when calculating it, only the prices of transactions concluded in it are taken into account, and no dividend income is included. The WIG30 index may not include more than 7 companies from one exchange sector, and the share of one company is limited to 10% in the index. [2]

The Ranking is based on 12-month turnover values and free float market capitalization based on closing price selected from the last 5 trading sessions before the ranking day. Companies that meet the Monthly Turnover Ratio (MTR) criterion in the last 12 months before ranking date are eligible for the index. It is computed daily between 09:00 and 17:10 Hours CET. [3]

WIG, originally an acronym for Warszawski Indeks Giełdowy is the oldest index of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, introduced on the WSE's first trading session on 16 April 1991. WIG lists 330 companies.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">BUX</span> Hungarian stock market index

BUX is a blue chip stock market index consisting up to 25 major Hungarian companies trading on the Budapest Stock Exchange. Prices are taken from the electronic Xetra trading system. According to the operator Budapest Stock Exchange, the BUX measures the performance of the Equities Prime Market's 12 to 25 largest Hungarian companies in terms of order book volume and market capitalization. It is the equivalent of the Dow Jones Industrial Average and DAX, the index shows the average price changing of the shares with the biggest market value and turnover in the equity section. The S&P/TSX Composite Index is the benchmark Canadian index representing roughly 70% of the total market capitalization on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX). The Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) is a stock exchange in Warsaw, Poland. Founded in 1817, it was located in the Saxon Palace until 1877 when it was moved to the Exchange Building at the Saxon Garden. Currently, it is located at ul. Książęca 4 in the Śródmieście District of Warsaw in the Exchange Center Building opened in 2000. As of March 2023, there are 416 companies, including 43 foreign ones, quoted on the stock exchange whose market capitalization amounts to PLN 1.18 trillion, making it the largest stock exchange in Central and Eastern Europe. The most important stock market indices of the Warsaw Stock Exchange are WIG20, WIG30, MWIG40 and SWIG80. Trading at Warsaw runs from 08:30 to 17:00 with closing auction from 17:00-17:05.

The S&P/ASX 200 index is a market-capitalization weighted and float-adjusted stock market index of stocks listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. The index is maintained by Standard & Poor's and is considered the benchmark for Australian equity performance. It is based on the 200 largest ASX listed stocks, which together account for about 82% of Australia's share market capitalization.

It operates in 60 countries worldwide and employs over 32,400 people.

The WIG20 is a capitalization-weighted stock market index of the twenty largest companies on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. WIG is an acronym for "Warszawski Indeks Giełdowy", which translates to Warsaw Stock Index in Polish. However, so that no sector would dominate the index, the rule was introduced that there can be a maximum of 5 companies per sector. In this way, for example, there are 5 banks in the index. Companies also have different shares in the index, with clear consequences.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Hang Seng Index</span> Stock market index in Hong Kong

The Hang Seng Index (HSI) is a freefloat-adjusted market-capitalization-weighted stock-market index in Hong Kong. It is used to record and monitor daily changes of the largest companies of the Hong Kong stock market and is the main indicator of the overall market performance in Hong Kong. These 82 constituent companies represent about 58% of the capitalisation of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

The PSI-20 is a benchmark stock market index of companies that trade on Euronext Lisbon, the main stock exchange of Portugal. The index tracks the prices of the twenty listings with the largest market capitalisation and share turnover in the PSI Geral, the general stock market of the Lisbon exchange. It is one of the main national indices of the pan-European stock exchange group Euronext alongside Brussels' BEL20, Paris's CAC 40 and Amsterdam's AEX.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Boryszew (company)</span>

Boryszew SA is a Polish public company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and it is on the exchange's WIG30 index of largest companies. Parts of the Boryszew group are engaged in the production of components for the automotive industry, chemical materials, metal oxides, and other metal elements. It is based in Sochaczew. The company owns 30 production plants in 14 countries and employs around 10,000 people.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Alior Bank</span> Large universal bank in Poland

Alior Bank SA is a universal bank in Poland founded in 2008. It has been a subsidiary of insurance company PZU SA since 2015 and forms the 10th largest banking group in the country, with more than 8,143 employees as of the end of 2019. It is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) and is a component of the WIG30 stock market index.

The FTSE/JSE All-Share Index is the most important stock market index in South Africa. It comprises all companies listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. The 40 largest stocks by market capitalization are combined in the FTSE/JSE Top 40 Index.
