Wees Historic District is a national historic district located at Elkins, Randolph County, West Virginia. It encompasses 282 contributing buildings, 1 contributing site, and 1 contributing object in a primarily residential section of Elkins. The district includes houses representative of popular architectural styles between about 1890 and 1955. The district also includes a variety of domestic dependencies, several historic churches, the 7.9-acre City Park, a Works Progress Administration-era public building, and a small number of commercial buildings. Also in the district is a bronze equestrian statue of Henry Gassaway Davis. Located in the district are the previously listed Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church, Randolph County Courthouse and Jail, and the Warfield-Dye Residence. [2]

Senator Stephen Benton Elkins House, also known as Halliehurst, is an historic mansion located at Elkins, Randolph County, West Virginia. It was designed by architect Charles T. Mott and built in 1890, as a summer home for U.S. Senator Stephen Benton Elkins. It consists of a three-story main block with hipped roof and service wing. The roof is punctuated by towers, turrets, dormers, and chimneys. A porch surrounds much of the first floor. It features a two-story portico with columns around a central, flat roofed tower. Located on a mountainside, it commands a view of the valley beneath and the forest and mountain peaks that surround the valley. In 1923, the house and approximately 60 acres of land were deeded to Davis & Elkins College by Sen. Elkins' widow.
The Davis and Elkins Historic District is a National Historic Landmark District on the campus of Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, West Virginia. It includes two mansions, the Senator Stephen Benton Elkins House (Halliehurst) and Graceland, that are separately listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A gate house and an ice house are also included in the district. These four structures are associated with the families of Henry Gassaway Davis (1823-1916) and Stephen Benton Elkins (1841-1911), who were dominating figures in the politics and economy of West Virginia in the late 19th century. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1998.
The Elkins Coal and Coke Company Historic District is a historic industrial site near the crossroads village of Bretz in Preston County, West Virginia. It is the site of the last major coke manufacturing facility to use beehive ovens, and was a major industrial site in northern West Virginia in the first half of the 20th century. Surviving elements include a row of 140 beehive ovens. The site was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1983.

Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church at 450 Randolph Avenue in Elkins, Randolph County, West Virginia, United States. It was originally built in 1894 and 1895 after designs prepared by the Baltimore architect Charles E. Cassell. In 1921, an Akron plan Sunday School building was added to the north by Clarence L. Harding of Washington D. C. The building consists of a nave, an engaged tower, and a gable roofed structure located perpendicular to the nave. It is built of a granular conglomerate stone consisting of large, transparent quartz crystals bound in clay or silica. The style is Gothic, with Romanesque and eclectic influences.
Ravenswood "Old Town" Historic District is a national historic district located at Ravenswood, Jackson County, West Virginia. It encompasses 313 contributing buildings and two contributing structures, the Ohio River Rail Road Steel Pratt-through truss Bridge and Concrete bridge on State Route 68 over Sandy Creek. It includes the commercial and civic core of the town, and surrounding residential buildings. It includes example of popular architectural styles of the mid- to late-19th and early-20th century, including Greek Revival, Gothic Revival, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Italianate, Craftsman, and Bungalow. Notable buildings include the McIntosh Building, First Baptist Church, Randolph Building/Caldwell Building (1907), the Grace Episcopal Church ; Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ravenswood Community Center (1938), and McIntosh House.
Downtown Huntington Historic District is a national historic district located at Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia. The original district encompassed 59 contributing buildings; the boundary increase added 53 more contributing buildings. It includes the central business district of Huntington and includes several of its municipal and governmental buildings. It contains the majority of the historic concentration of downtown commercial buildings. Located in the district are the separately listed Carnegie Public Library, Cabell County Courthouse, U.S. Post Office and Court House, and Campbell-Hicks House.

The district encompasses 28 contributing buildings in the central business district developed after a devastating fire in 1902. The district is almost exclusively commercial, with the exception of a few residences. Notable buildings include the B & O Railroad Station (1912), Cozy Corner, Salem Baptist Church, First National Bank, U.S. Post Office, Brissey Insurance Building, Wilson Building, and the Queen Anne style Pearcy-Randolph House, former home of Senator Jennings Randolph.
Wheeling Historic District, also known as the Wheeling Central Business District, is a national historic district located at Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. The district includes 205 contributing buildings in the central business district of Wheeling. It includes the site of the original location of Fort Henry. The buildings are representative of a number of popular architectural styles from the early-19th century through the present including Greek Revival and Late Victorian. The District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
Elkins Milling Company, also known as Darden's Mill, is a historic grist mill located at Elkins, Randolph County, West Virginia. It is a three-story timber frame structure, eight bays long and three bays deep. It was built in 1902, and expanded and at various points in the 20th century. The building served Elkins and the surrounding area as a merchant grain mill and feed store.
Randolph County Courthouse and Jail is a historic courthouse and jail located at Elkins, Randolph County, West Virginia. The two buildings were built between 1902 and 1904. They are constructed of brick and faced with stone with contrasting smooth and textured stone trim. The courthouse measures 103 feet by 76 feet, with a tower flanking the entrance pavilion at 150 feet tall. It features a rounded arch entrance in the Richardsonian Romanesque style. The jail features a massive conical-roofed corner tower.
Albert and Liberal Arts Halls are a set of two historic buildings located on the campus of Davis & Elkins College at Elkins, Randolph County, West Virginia. The brick Georgian Revival style buildings were built between 1924 and 1926, and planned as a unit of two distinct and separate buildings connected by a graceful stone arcade. They were designed by noted Charleston architect Walter F. Martens.

It encompasses 51 contributing buildings that reflect the history of Beverly from its founding to the end of the 19th century. Helvetia Village Historic District is a national historic district located at Helvetia, Randolph County, West Virginia. It encompasses 26 contributing buildings in the village center. Some of the buildings date to the original settlement period in 1869–1870, when they were built of log construction. Later 19th-century and early-20th century buildings are of frame construction, with a number in the Carpenter Gothic style. Notable buildings include The Church (1882), Huber Inn, Post Office and Store / house (1920s), the log Swiss Museum, Star Band Hall, Cheese Haus, an original cabin (1870), Helvetia Community Hall (1939), and Rudolph's Carpenter Shop.
West Virginia Children's Home is a national historic district located at Elkins, Randolph County, West Virginia. It encompasses two contributing buildings and two contributing structures. The original Children's Home building was built in 1909, with a main section and rear ell in the Colonial Revival style. An upper story to the ell was added by 1918, and an addition was built in 1935. The front facade features a portico with Corinthian order columns. The other contributing building is a two-story residence built in 1920. The contributing structures are the swimming pool (1935) and a brick storage cellar. It served as the statewide institution for the housing and placement of orphaned, neglected, and dependent children from 1911 until 1977. It was subsequently occupied by a residential treatment facility for disturbed teenagers.
