Wild & Free is the third and final studio album by indie rock band A Rocket to the Moon. It was released on March 26, 2013, via Fueled By Ramen. [2] The album peaked at number 136 on the Billboard 200.
In December 2011, Nick Santino announced that the band would begin recording their second studio album in January 2012. [3] The group recorded the album at Starstruck Studios in Nashville, Tennessee and they worked with producer Mark Bright. [4]
"We've spent the last three years trying to out do ourselves. We've toured around the world, made friends, and written tons of songs along the way... we'll be recording our second album with legendary producer Mark Bright. We are excited, and we hope you are, too. We've grown and matured as people and musicians over the last three years, and we're happy that you have grown with us. The songs we've written for this album hold a special place in our hearts, and we hope they'll do the same for you." [4]
In June 2012, the group revealed the title of the album, Wild & Free. [5] In October 2012, the band embarked on the That Old Feeling tour in support of the upcoming album. [6] In February 2013, the band released the album artwork for Wild & Free. [7]
On May 9, 2013, A Rocket to the Moon announced that the band would be breaking up following their tour with the Maine. [8] They embarked on their last tour, the One Last Night Tour, in August 2013. [9] They also performed one last show at the Bazooka Rocks II Music Festival in the Philippines on August 25, before breaking up. [10]
The album was influenced by Johnny Cash and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. [11] According to drummer Andrew Cook, the album's sound was influenced by country music, pop, classic rock and punk rock. [12] Santino stated, when he wrote the songs with guitarist Justin Richards, the writing was also influenced by country music. [1] He also felt that recording this album was less stressful compared to their previous album, On Your Side . [1] The album was written about the past and the future, according to Santino. [13] The album consists of 13 tracks and each one was recorded 30 times, "just to get a good take." The band would then "clean up some of the guitar parts, go back and re-do some of that stuff," before layering the vocals on top. [11] The group finished recording the album in February 2012, however, in need for another song for the record, they headed back into the studio to record a single. [14]
Santino spoke with Alternative Press about some tracks from the album. "Lost and Found" is described as a piano ballad and is about needing "to get lost before you get found," a theme the band has never written about prior, according to Santino. [11] One of the more darker songs from the album, "Another Set Of Wings" is about "losing somebody that you're in love with, or really close to." They wrote the song with Stephen Barker Liles of Love and Theft, which was written in Stephen's bedroom and features guest vocals from Liz Huett. [11]
On July 3, 2012, "Going Out" was made available for streaming and was released as the album's first promotional single. [15] On August 13, "Whole Lotta You" was released for streaming, before it was officially released as the album's lead single on August 21. [16] "You're My Song" was streamed via Alternative Press on September 28. [17] In anticipation of releasing Wild & Free, the group released an EP titled, That Old Feeling on October 2. [6] On November 27, "Ever Enough" was released as the second single from the album. [18] According to Santino, it took "forever to get a release date" for the album, stemming from issues with the label. [14] It was supposed to be released in August 2012, before the album was pushed back to September, then October, then January. They were eventually given a release date for March 2013. [14] The album was streamed exclusively via Billboard on March 19, 2013. [13] It was officially released on March 26. [19]

The album was met with positive reviews from music critics. Matt Collar of AllMusic stated, "A Rocket to the Moon's new country sound on Wild & Free is an immediately likable one, and in the band's own low-key way, shows a fresh new approach for the band's musical direction." [20] Marina Oliver of idobi Radio remarked, "Whether listeners vibe with the turn that A Rocket To The Moon have taken toward a pop impression on light country or prefer their youthful musings without a side of the South, the old sweetness of the band still sits evident just below the surface." [21] Will R. of Sputnikmusic noted, "Sure, it's catchy as hell, and in true A Rocket To The Moon fashion the album's main draw is how damn easy the whole thing is. It slides in one ear and right out the other like cream soda, super sweet and not all that nutritious." [22]

Santi is the second studio album by American rock band The Academy Is..., released on April 2, 2007 by Fueled by Ramen, Decaydance Records and Atlantic Records. It is their first release to feature Michael Guy Chislett on lead guitar after Tom Conrad's departure from the band.
So Wrong, It's Right is the second studio album and major label debut by American rock band All Time Low. Following an unsuccessful showcase for Fueled by Ramen, Hopeless Records signed All Time Low in March 2006. They released an EP, Put Up or Shut Up, through the label in July of that year. After amassing 12 songs by January 2007, the band demoed some of them for Paul Leavitt. The group began recording So Wrong, It's Right in April at SOMD Studios in Beltsville, Maryland with producers Leavitt and Matt Squire. The band wrote five additional songs while in the studio. Following an acoustic tour in June, the band participated in Warped Tour, and "Dear Maria, Count Me In" was made available for streaming. After premiering a music video for "Six Feet Under the Stars", So Wrong, It's Right was released on September 25. The band spent the next three months supporting Boys Like Girls on their US tour.
Forever the Sickest Kids is an American pop punk band from Dallas, Texas. The band first signed with Universal Motown Records and released its debut album, Underdog Alma Mater, on April 29, 2008. The band's second album, Forever the Sickest Kids, was released on March 1, 2011. Universal Motown Records was later shut down in 2011 and the band was left unsigned for over a year until signing to Fearless Records in late 2012. The band released its third studio album, J.A.C.K., on June 25, 2013. In an Alternative Press article, the band was placed number one underground band of the "22 Best Underground Bands".
The Maine is an American rock band from Tempe, Arizona. Formed in 2007, the group consists of lead vocalist, guitarist and pianist John O'Callaghan, lead guitarist Jared Monaco, bass guitarist Garrett Nickelsen, drummer Patrick Kirch, and rhythm guitarist Kennedy Brock. The band is joined by touring member Adam Simons, as of 2018, who plays keys, rhythm and lead guitar as well as percussion.
Never Shout Never was an American rock band formed in Joplin, Missouri, in 2007. Vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Christofer Drew began the band as a solo project before expanding it to a band, whose best-known lineup included himself, bassist Taylor MacFee, and drummer Hayden Kaiser. The band that accompanied Drew when it was a solo project were originally known as "The Shout". Never Shout Never released eight full-length albums and nine EPs.
Breathe Carolina are an American electronic music duo from Denver, Colorado. The duo formed in 2007 consisting of David Schmitt and Kyle Even. They later expanded to a full band whose best-known lineup included Schmitt, Even, drummer Eric Armenta, keytarist Joshua Aragon and DJ Luis Bonet. In 2013, Even left the group, while Tommy Cooperman joined that year. Breathe Carolina is currently composed of Schmitt and Cooperman.
A Rocket to the Moon was an American rock band formed during 2006 in Braintree, Massachusetts, United States, by Nick Santino, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist. Guitarist and backup vocalist Justin Richards, bassist and backup vocalist Eric Halvorsen, and drummer Andrew Cook eventually joined the band, forming the final member lineup. The band has released three albums overall, two through Fueled by Ramen. Their debut studio album, Your Best Idea, was released on December 26, 2006. Their second studio album, On Your Side, was released on October 13, 2009. Wild & Free was released as their third studio album on March 26, 2013. In 2013, the group split up, but returned for a one-off performance in 2017.
Go Radio was an American rock band from Tallahassee, Florida, formed by former Mayday Parade vocalist, guitarist and lyricist Jason Lancaster in April 2007.
Jordan Mark Witzigreuter, known professionally as The Ready Set, is an American singer-songwriter from Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States. He is the lead vocalist and sole member of the act, using a backup band while on tour. He has released six studio albums, Syntax and Bright Lights, Tantrum Castle, I'm Alive, I'm Dreaming, The Bad & the Better, I Will Be Nothing Without Your Love and Cherryland, nine extended plays and fourteen singles. He is best known for the commercially successful single "Love Like Woe" from his major label debut, I'm Alive, I'm Dreaming.
Black Veil Brides is an American rock band based in Hollywood, California. The group formed in 2006 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is currently composed of lead vocalist Andy Biersack, rhythm guitarist and violinist Jinxx, lead guitarist Jake Pitts, drummer Christian "CC" Coma and bassist Lonny Eagleton. Black Veil Brides are known for their use of black makeup, body paint, tight black studded clothing, and long hair, which were all inspired by the stage personas of Kiss and Mötley Crüe, as well as other 1980s glam metal acts.
Dirty Work is the fourth studio album by American rock band All Time Low. Following the success of Nothing Personal, the band signed to major label Interscope Records in late 2009. After spending sometime writing material in Los Angeles, the band started recording with Mike Green in March 2010. Over the following months the band recorded songs with John Fields, Butch Walker, Matt Squire, David Kahne and U4L. In between sessions, the band embarked on the Bamboozle Roadshow tour. Neal Avron mixed the majority of the album's recordings while Green, Mark Trombino and Chris Lord-Alge each mixed a song. Vocalist/guitarist Alex Gaskarth co-wrote the album's songs with a variety of people, including those who produced a few of the songs. While recording, the album was planned for release in 2010. It was delayed to January 2011, and then to spring. Further recording sessions then took place in November 2010, as well as in January 2011.

Man Overboard is the second studio album by the American rock band Man Overboard. After the release of their debut album Real Talk (2010), guitarist Wayne Wildrick left the group, resulting in several line-up changes. In December 2010, the group had signed to independent label Rise Records, and aimed to release another album by fall of next year. Following Wildrick's return to the band in April 2011, the group began demoing songs for their next album the following month. With New Found Glory guitarist Steve Klein standing in as producer, the group recorded their second album at Cannon Found Soundation Studios in New Jersey in June. Following this, the band went on a European tour with Polar Bear Club. After the album was announced in August 2011, "Dead End Dreams" was made available for streaming later that month, followed by "Spunn" in mid-September.
Collider is the fourth studio album by American rock band Cartel. In 2008 Cartel left Epic to sign with Wind-Up. Following this the group released Cycles (2009). Bassist Jeff Lett left to focus on school, and the band parted ways with Wind-Up. In October 2011 the group self-released In Stereo. The band called the idea of self-releasing music as "experiment[al]". Following a tour with Set Your Goals in March and April 2012 the group started writing new material. In August, the band started recording, and they finished in January 2013. The album was produced by vocalist Will Pugh and guitarist Joseph Pepper. After making a few songs available for streaming, the album was self-released on March 26, 2013. It charted at number 141 on the Billboard 200 chart. To support the album, the band toured the U.S. and the UK alongside New Found Glory, State Champs, Kids in Glass Houses and Mayday Parade.
Feel is the third studio album by American rock band Sleeping with Sirens was released by June 4, 2013. This is the last album released on Rise. The entire album was produced by Cameron Mizell who had produced their debut album. It is the final album to feature rhythm guitarist Jesse Lawson who left the band later in 2013. The album also features guest appearances by Fronz (Attila), Matty Mullins and Shayley Bourget.

Nicholas Bernard Santino is an American musician, singer-songwriter. He is best known as the lead singer and guitarist for the alternative rock band Beach Weather and former frontman of pop rock band A Rocket to the Moon. ARTTM albums included On Your Side (2009) and Wild and Free (2013) After the band broke up in 2013, he went on to pursue a solo career and has released numerous solo EPs and a full-length album, Big Skies, which was released on May 27, 2014. In 2015, he formed Beach Weather.
Knuckle Puck is an American rock band, formed in 2010 in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. The band's name comes from the "knucklepuck" shot in ice hockey, which was popularized by the 1994 film D2: The Mighty Ducks.
Unimagined Bridges is the fourth studio album by rock band Driver Friendly, released by Hopeless on July 15, 2014. The album was produced by Matt Malpass at Marigolds + Monsters Studio in Atlanta, Georgia with additional recording taking place at Rattle Rock Studios in Canyon Lake, Texas. "Stand So Tall" and "Everything Gold" was released as singles before the album was released; the former featuring Dan "Soupy" Campbell on guest vocals. To support the album, the band toured with Quiet Company, Stickup Kid, Transit, Motion City Soundtrack and Cartel, among others.
"Like We Used To" is a song by American rock band A Rocket to the Moon. It was released on June 15, 2010, as the second single from their second studio album, On Your Side. A music video premiered on June 7, 2010, and was featured on MTV's Teen Mom in October 2010.
