William King (born 7 December 1959), also known as Bill King, is a Scottish writer of a number of science fiction and fantasy books, most notably in Games Workshop's Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 series, published by Games Workshop's fiction arm Black Library.
King wrote Trollslayer (1999), the first novel published under the Games Workshop's Black Library label. [1]
His most memorable characters, Gotrek and Felix, have appeared in a series of novels, beginning with Trollslayer, a collection of previously published and new short stories. His next-most-famous character is Ragnar Blackmane, a Space Marine from the Warhammer 40,000 game setting universe (although the character was already in existence in the game and background material, King took him and expanded his history in the novel series).
In 2010, he signed a three-book deal with Black Library that will focus on elven brothers Tyrion and Teclis.
Prior to moving to the Czech Republic, King spent a number of years as a designer for GW, contributing to their game universes (where much of his fiction is also set). He has also written a tetralogy of books featuring the Death's Angels which are available in the Czech Republic, Spain and Germany.
He married his long-time girlfriend, Radka, on 24 September 2005, and lives in Prague with his family.
King's latest work has been Illidan: World of Warcraft for Blizzard Entertainment, released in March 2016. [2]
Warhammer 40,000 is a miniature wargame produced by Games Workshop. It is the most popular miniature wargame in the world, and is particularly popular in the United Kingdom. Trollslayer, a novel written by William King, is the first in a series of twelve books following the adventures of Gotrek and Felix, in the Warhammer Fantasy universe. It shows the background for many important things in Felix's reminiscing in other stories, such as his first encounter with Chaos and his first great love, not to mention where he got his magical sword.

Illidan Stormrage is a fictional character who appears in the Warcraft series of video games by Blizzard Entertainment. Nathan Long is an American fantasy author. He is well known for his Gotrek and Felix novels, along with The Blackhearts Trilogy and Jane Carver of Waar.
World of Warcraft: Legion is the sixth expansion set in the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) World of Warcraft, following Warlords of Draenor. It was announced on August 6, 2015 at Gamescom 2015. The expansion was released on August 30, 2016.

First and Only is a military science fiction novel by Dan Abnett, set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Published in 1999, it is the first novel in the Gaunt's Ghosts series, which, as of 2019, consists of 16 novels and multiple short stories, as well as two spin-off novels and a companion book that acts as a mock history of the military campaign which forms the setting of the series.
David Annandale is a Canadian speculative fiction author. He received a BA (1990) and an MA (1992) from the University of Manitoba, and took a PhD from the University of Alberta; he currently teaches at the University of Manitoba. Annandale is a regular contributor to "The Skiffy and Fanty Show" podcast as "The Kaiju Whisperer". His contributions to that podcast have led to two Hugo nominations for the Hugo Award for Best Fancast, once in 2014 and later in 2021. He is predominantly known for his numerous fiction contributions to various Warhammer 40,000 series.
