A member of the Republican Party,he previously served as Secretary of State of Illinois from 1991 to 1999 and as lieutenant governor from 1983 to 1991. Chair of Council's Committee on Finance,Burke has been called Chicago's "most powerful alderman" by the Chicago Sun-Times. Arenda Iris Troutman is an American former politician who ran as a member of the Democratic Party. Troutman served as alderman of Chicago,Illinois 20th Ward from April 1990 until February 2007. Troutman was appointed to her position by Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley,to fill the ward's vacancy after the death of alderman Ernest Jones. Troutman was subsequently re-elected in 1991,1995,1999,and 2003.

Antoin Rezko is an American businessman and convict. He was a fundraiser for Illinois Democratic and Republican politicians. After becoming a major contributor to Rod Blagojevich's successful election for governor,Rezko assisted Blagojevich in setting up the state's first Democratic administration in twenty years and as a result he was able to have business associates appointed onto several state boards. Rezko and several others were indicted on federal charges in October 2006 for using their connections on the state boards to demand kickbacks from businesses that wished to engage in dealings with the state. While the others pleaded guilty,Rezko pleaded not guilty and was tried. He was found guilty of 16 of the 24 charges filed against him and on November 23,2011,he was sentenced to 10.5 years in prison.
Proco Joe Moreno III is an American politician who served as alderman from the 1st ward in the Chicago City Council starting in 2010 when he was appointed to replace Manny Flores on March 26,2010. His term ended on May 20,2019,after his loss to Daniel La Spata in the 2019 Chicago aldermanic elections. The 1st Ward of Chicago incorporates areas including:Wicker Park,Bucktown,East Village,Ukrainian Village,Logan Square and the southeastern tip of Roscoe Village.
David M. Nangle was an American state legislator that served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1999 to 2020. He is a Lowell resident and a member of the Democratic Party. While a member of the House,he served as the chair of the House Ethics committee. In February 2021,Nangle pleaded guilty to charges of wire fraud,bank fraud,making false statements to a bank,and filing false tax returns. He is currently serving a 15 month prison sentence at FMC Devens until November 2022.

A study published by the University of Illinois Chicago in 2022 ranked Illinois as the second most corrupt state in the nation,with 4 out of the last 11 governors serving time in prison.
Patrick Daley Thompson is an American former politician and convicted felon who most recently served as an alderman from Chicago's 11th ward and was previously a commissioner of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. A member of the prominent Daley family,he is a grandson of Richard J. Daley and a nephew of Richard M. Daley,both of whom served as longtime mayors of Chicago.
