Wingate is an unincorporated community in Dorchester County, Maryland, United States. [1] Wingate is located along Wingate Bishops Head Road northeast of the Honga River in the southern part of the county.

Dorchester County is a county located in the U.S. state of Maryland. As of the 2010 census, the population was 32,618. Its county seat is Cambridge. The county was formed in 1669 and named for the Earl of Dorset, a family friend of the Calverts.
