Wingspan is a strategy video game based on the board game Wingspan for Windows, macOS, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, iOS, Android, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. It released in 2020 to positive critical and commercial reception.

Release

An early digital version of the tabletop game released in January 2019 on the tabletop simulator Tabletopia. [1] It was subsequently released for macOS and Windows via Steam on September 17, 2020, with a port for Nintendo Switch releasing initially in Japan on December 24, 2020, [2] and globally on December 29, 2020. [3] The game was also released the following year in 2021 for Xbox One on June 18, [4] iOS and iPadOS on July 20, 2021, [5] Android on November 9, 2021, [6] and for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in 2024 on October 11. [7]

Reception

The game received "generally favorable" reviews according to review aggregator Metacritic. [9] [8] PC Gamer rated the game 9/10, praising the mechanics and illustration positively comparing with the original board game. [10] Gamezebo , however, preferred the original board game. [11] The adaptation was commercially successful, with 125,000 cumulative copies sold across Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and iOS. [12]

Reigns is a 2016 strategy video game developed by Nerial and published by Devolver Digital. In the game, players control a medieval king who they must help rule for as long as possible. The monarch receives petitions and questions from advisers, which are represented by cards. The player can choose between two responses to the adviser, which has an effect on one of the kingdom's four aspects. If one of the aspects becomes too unbalanced, the game ends and the player starts another reign with a new monarch. To win the game, the player must break a curse created by the Devil, who visits the king across several reigns.

Peglin is a roguelike video game developed by Red Nexus Games and published by IndieArk and BlitWorks Games. It was released for PC on April 25th of 2022, on iOS and Android on April 11 of 2023, and Nintendo Switch on August 27th of 2024, once the full version became available.
