The Canary Islands, also known informally as the Canaries, are a Spanish region, autonomous community and archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean. At their closest point to the African mainland, they are 100 kilometres west of Morocco. They are the southernmost of the autonomous communities of Spain. The islands have a population of 2.2 million people and are the most populous special territory of the European Union.

Its highest mountain is the Roque de los Muchachos, at 2,426 metres (7,959 ft), being second among the peaks of the Canaries after the Teide massif on Tenerife.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife, commonly abbreviated as Santa Cruz, is a city, the capital of the island of Tenerife, Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and one of the capitals of the Canary Islands, along with Las Palmas. Santa Cruz has a population of 206,593 (2013) within its administrative limits. The urban zone of Santa Cruz extends beyond the city limits with a population of 507,306 and 538,000 within urban area. It is the second largest city in the Canary Islands and the main city on the island of Tenerife, with nearly half of the island's population living in or around it.
Torre Picasso is a skyscraper in Madrid, Spain designed by Minoru Yamasaki. From 1988 until 2007 it was the tallest building in Madrid, measuring 515 ft (157 m) and with 43 floors. Torre Picasso is located next to the Pablo Picasso Square, within the commercial complex AZCA along the Paseo de la Castellana.
Vallehermoso is a village and municipality in the western part of the island La Gomera in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife of the Canary Islands, Spain. The town of Vallehermoso, the seat of the municipality, is situated in the northern part of the municipality, 3 km from the coast and 18 km northwest of the island capital, San Sebastián de la Gomera.
The Diocese of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, also called Diocese of Tenerife or Diocese Nivariense, is a diocese located in the city of San Cristóbal de La Laguna in the Canary Islands and a suffragan in the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Sevilla in Spain. The diocese includes the islands of Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro, in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The bishop of this diocese is Bernardo Álvarez Afonso.
Abalos & Herreros is an architectural firm founded by Inaki Abalos and Juan Herreros in Madrid, Spain. The founders were involved in the last throes of La Movida Madrileña and later produced a 1997 monograph called Areas of Impunity. They are known for their playful writing and an interest in industrial methods of building. The office split into two Madrid-based offices in 2008. Immediately Juan Herreros' office won a number of important international open competitions, with the new Munch Museum in Oslo being the most important of them.
The Tenerife Arts Space is a cultural space and building in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Tenerife, Spain. Opened in 2008, it was designed by Herzog & de Meuron and Virgilio Gutierrez. It houses a permanent exhibition of the works of Óscar Domínguez, as well as the Biblioteca Municipal de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and the Centro de Fotografía Isla de Tenerife. It is operated by the Cabildo de Tenerife.
The Auditorio de Tenerife "Adán Martín" is an auditorium in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. Designed by architect Santiago Calatrava, it is located on the Avenue of the Constitution in the Canarian capital, and next to the Atlantic Ocean in the southern part of Port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Construction began in 1997 and was completed in 2003. The auditorium was inaugurated on 26 September of that year in the presence of Felipe, Prince of Asturias, and was later visited by former U.S. President Bill Clinton. The building is framed within the tenets of late-modern architecture of the late 20th century.
The Torres de Santa Cruz is a residential complex composed of the twin towers located in the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. They were designed by Canarian architect Julian Valladares, and were built in the time period between 2004 and 2006.
All Saints' Church, also known as Anglican Church of All Saints, is a Church of England parish church located in the city of Puerto de la Cruz on the island of Tenerife.
Punta Cumplida Lighthouse is an active 19th century Spanish lighthouse on the Canary island of La Palma in the municipality of Barlovento. Punta Cumplida is the oldest of the four main lighthouses on La Palma, each one being located near to a different cardinal point of the island. Punta Cumplida marks the north-eastern tip; Fuencaliente the southern point, and the two modern lighthouses at Punta Lava and Arenas Blancas, the eastern and western points respectively.
Dolores de la Torre Champsaur, better known as Lola de la Torre, was a Canarian musician and pioneer of musicology in the Canary Islands.
The Torres government was a regional government of the Canary Islands led by President Ángel Víctor Torres. It was formed in July 2019 after the regional election.
