Jason Katims American television writer, producer, and playwright

Jason Katims is an American television writer, producer, and playwright. He is best known as the creator of several television series, including Relativity (1996), Roswell (1999-2002), Friday Night Lights (2006-2011), Parenthood (2010-2015), About a Boy (2014-2015) and Rise (2018).

Jennifer Ann Celotta is an American television producer, writer, and director. The staff won the Writers Guild of America (WGA) Award for Best Dramatic Series at the February 2006 ceremony for their work on the second season. She became a story editor and writer for the third season in 2006. Kim and her co-writer Elizabeth Sarnoff were nominated for the WGA award for Best Episodic Drama at the February 2007 ceremony for their work on the second season episode "Two for the Road". The writing staff were again nominated for the WGA Award for Best Dramatic Series at the February 2007 ceremony for their work on the second and third seasons. Daniel Cerone is a television writer and executive producer. His credits include Dexter, where he served as showrunner, along with The Blacklist, The Mentalist, Dirty Sexy Money and Charmed. He was the co-creator of Constantine, the critically acclaimed adaptation of the DC comics Vertigo series Hellblazer, which developed a cult following. From November 5, 2007, to February 12, 2008, all 12,000 film and television screenwriters of the American labor unions Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE), and Writers Guild of America West (WGAW) went on strike.

The Writers Guild of America Award for Television: Comedy/Variety Talk Series is an award presented by the Writers Guild of America to the best writing in a comedy or variety talk program. With the exception of 1998 in which no award was given, it has been presented annually since the 49th Writers Guild of America Awards in 1997 where Late Night with Conan O'Brien won the first award. From the award's creation, the category was dominated by Late Night with Conan O'Brien, winning six of the first nine awards. Recently, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver has won the award the last three years in a row, and four times in the last five years.
