First Love is the debut Japanese-language studio album by Japanese recording artist Utada Hikaru, released on 10 March 1999 on Toshiba-EMI. Born and raised in New York City to music-oriented parents, Utada moved to Tokyo to attend Seisen International School and American School in Japan. From there, she began writing and composing music for her debut effort. Utada, her father Teruzane Utada and producer Akira Miyake produced the album and remain her two main co-producers and composers.

The sound production is handled by Hide's older brother JIN, a former guitarist of Pay money To my Pain. Prior to its physical release, a digital version titled X Japan World Best became available in 111 countries via iTunes on May 21. It contains the band's hit songs from their major label career, as well as a live performance of the hide tribute song Without You for the first time. The Japanese version includes Amethyst from The Last Live. The album reached number 2 on the Oricon main chart, and was certified gold by RIAJ in 2016.
The following is the discography of hide, a Japanese rock musician who first gained fame in the late 1980s as lead guitarist of the heavy metal band X Japan before starting his solo career in 1993. Prior to X Japan, hide was leader and guitarist of the heavy metal band Saber Tiger, who released one self-titled EP in July 1985 and contributed to two omnibuses before ending activities. Although two compilation albums of demos and live recordings and one concert VHS would later be released in 2001, with the band credited as Yokosuka Saver Tiger.
