Yamchi (Persian : يامچي‎, also Romanized as Yāmchī; also known as Yāmcheh)^[1] is a village in Zanjanrud-e Bala Rural District, in the Central District of Zanjan County, Zanjan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 1,117, in 233 families.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Zanjanrud-e Bala Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in the Central District of Zanjan County, Zanjan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 11,912, in 2,922 families. The rural district has 29 villages.
