Yenning Amadi Likla (English: Spring And Dew) is a 2007 Indian Meitei language film directed by Makhonmani Mongsaba [1] and produced by SURVI (Santibala, Sunitibala, Umabati, Saroja, Victoria and Ibemhal), under the banner of Nongin Films. [2] It stars Muru Ningthoujam, Huirem Seema, Lairenjam Olen and Reshmi Samom in the lead roles. The story of the film was written by Moirangthem Inao. The film was made in 16 mm and blown up in 35 mm. [3] It was processed at Prasad Laboratory, Chennai.

Yenning Amadi Likla got entry into the feature film section of the Indian Panorama of the 39th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2008. [4] [5] It was among 21 selected feature films. [6] [7] The movie also got selection at 2nd Hyderabad International Film Festival 2008. [8]

It was also screened at the 2nd edition of Doordarshan Best of Indian Cinema Film Festival 2014. [9]

Synopsis

The movie tells the story of a nature loving child Sanatomba who is neglected by his parents. His mother Leibaklei goes to a nearby rice mill daily to work. Sanatomba's father Ibohal is an alcoholic who literally does nothing but routinely picks up fight with his wife. He does not believe in the idea of education shaping a child's future. These particular notion of Ibohal has serious consequences on Sanatomba's schooling and childhood.

The child's future becomes more blurry when Leibaklei left for her maternal home. Thambal is a neighbour and classmate of Sanatomba. Her parents etch out a plan for Sanatomba's welfare.

Soundtrack

Sagolsem Tijendra composed the soundtrack for the movie. Narendra Ningomba, Makhonmani Mongsaba and Moirangthem Inao wrote the lyrics. Suniti, Iraileima and Reshmi performed the chorus music. The title of the film is sung by Satyaditya as a short song.

Matamgi Manipur is a 1972 Indian Meitei language film and the first full-length cinema of Manipur. The movie is directed by Debkumar Bose and produced by Karam Monomohan, under the banner of K.T. Films Private Limited. The black and white film features Gurumayum Ravindra Sharma and Yengkhom Roma in the lead roles. Arambam Samarendra wrote the story and screenplay by Debkumar Bose. The film won the President's Medal at the 20th National Film Awards. It is an adaptation of Arambam Samarendra's theatrical play Tīrtha Yātrā.

He is a recipient of several awards at several film festivals organised in India and abroad and has directed movies for around two decades. Thoiba Thoibi, Inga Nonglakta, Manithoiba, Natephamda Tero, Chumthang Makhong, Mikithi and Dharmagi Mingda Imagidamak are some of the well-known movies he directed.

Makhonmani Mongsaba is an Indian author, actor, producer and director from Imphal, Manipur. He got his doctorate degree in Manipuri from Manipur University. In 2013, he won the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award for his book Chinglon Amadagi Amada, a travelogue. He published the book Matamgi Manipur:The First Manipuri Feature Film by Bobby Wahengbam under the name Angomningthou Preservation and Documentation. It won the Best Book on Cinema at the 65th National Film Awards 2018 and both the writer and the publisher received the Swarna Kamal award.

Moirangthem Inao is a noted Indian playwright, lyricist, producer and director from Imphal, Manipur. He has scripted around 90 plays and most of them are popular radio plays aired on All India Radio, Imphal. Inao has also directed famous Manipuri movies like Nongallabasu Thaballei Manam and Laang. The dialogues from his radio plays have a unique charm and are famous among the radio play lovers of Manipur.

Huirem Seema was an Indian actress from Imphal, Manipur. She had appeared in more than 100 Manipuri films. As a producer, she had four Manipuri digital films to her credit. She was best known for her roles in movies like Kanaga Hinghouni, Chang Shi Chang, Lakhipurgi Lakhipyari, Naoshum, Yumleima Lamleima and Thasi Thanou. Two films where she acted, namely Yenning Amadi Likla (feature) and Ngaihak Lambida (non-feature) made entries into the Indian Panorama of the International Film Festival of India.

Langlen Thadoi is a 1984 Indian Meitei language film directed by M.A. Singh and produced by Khaidem Sakhi Devi for Kay Pee Films International. It is the first Manipuri full-length colour film and also the first Manipuri film to be produced by a woman. W. Chandrasakhi and Sagolsem Tijendra are the playback singers of the songs in the film.
