"You Make Me Feel Like It's Halloween" is a song by English rock band Muse, released as the sixth track from the band's ninth studio album Will of the People. It was also released as a standalone single alongside a music video. The song has a horror theme, with a music video referencing popular horror media such as IT and The Shining . [1] [2]

Music video

The music video, directed by Tom Teller, features a group of masked figures sneaking into a house only to discover that it is haunted. The video features many references to horror media such as IT , Friday the 13th , Poltergeist , The Shining , [3] [1] [4] and a nod to Corey Taylor's Slipknot mask, who was an influence on the new album. [2] [5] [6] Band members Matt Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme, and Dominic Howard appear as framed paintings in the background. [3]

Composition

The track has been described as electro-rock, [7] dance-rock, [8] alternative rock, [9] tech-rock, [10] space rock, [9] and pop. [9] The synthesizer work on the album has been described as "ominous" and John Carpenter-esque. [7] The track also experiments with "frazzled, spooky distortion", [11] and features organs throughout. [10] [8] Lyrically, the song is about "the claustrophobia of an abusive relationship". [12]

The tour was Muse's first since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and is also the first to feature new touring member Dan Lancaster, who replaced long-time touring member Morgan Nicholls. The Will of the People World Tour also became the band´s fifth consecutive album concert tour to sell over one million tickets and gross over $100 million.
