Zachary Dean Callison (born October 23, 1997) [1] is an American actor and singer. He is primarily known as the voice of the titular character in the Steven Universe franchise.
Callison began acting on television in 2009, with a recurring role on Diary of a Single Mom . For the next few years, he had a variety of one-off television roles. In 2013, he was cast in the main voice role of Prince James on Sofia the First , and in the lead voice role of Steven Universe. He is also known for his role as Billy from I'm in the Band and additional voices from Kinect Disneyland Adventures . He voiced King Tut in Mr. Peabody & Sherman , [2] Young Jiro in The Wind Rises , [3] and Billy Batson in the direct-to-video films Superman/Shazam!: The Return of Black Adam [4] and Justice League: War . [5]
In January 2018, Callison released his debut single, "War!", followed by the singles "Curtain Call" and "She Don't Know". In August 2018, he released his debut EP, A Picture Perfect Hollywood Heartbreak. The EP is a concept album about celebrity life and mental illness revolving around the protagonist's breakup with a mysterious woman named Juanita, as well as his thoughts of suicide and substance abuse. [6] Callison detailed his inspiration behind the album, saying "It's also a commentary on a lot of young actors and artists who have lost the battle; there's been a lot of dead 20 and 21-year-olds in the industry this year, some of whom I knew or admired. I don't know how we fix the problem, but I needed to say something." [7] Also in 2018, he starred as a magician in the music video for Nathan Sharp's song "Phantom".
Callison is also a singer and can play the piano. He is a youth representative for the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. David Kaye is a Canadian voice actor. He is best known for animation roles such as Megatron in five of the Transformers series, Optimus Prime in Transformers: Animated, Professor X in X-Men: Evolution, Cronus in Class of the Titans, Khyber in Ben 10: Omniverse, several characters in Avengers Assemble, and Duckworth in the reboot of DuckTales. Captain Marvel, also known as Shazam, is a superhero in American comic books originally published by Fawcett Comics and currently published by DC Comics. Artist C. C. Beck and writer Bill Parker created the character in 1939. Captain Marvel first appeared in Whiz Comics #2, published by Fawcett Comics. He is the alter ego of Billy Batson, a boy who, by speaking the magic word "SHAZAM!", is transformed into a costumed adult with the powers of superhuman strength, speed, flight, and other abilities. Steven Universe is an American animated television series created by Rebecca Sugar for Cartoon Network. Steven Universe: The Movie is a 2019 American animated musical television film based on the animated television series Steven Universe created by Rebecca Sugar. The film is directed by Sugar, alongside co-directors Joe Johnston and Kat Morris, and stars Zach Callison, Estelle, Michaela Dietz, Deedee Magno Hall, and Sarah Stiles, alongside an ensemble cast reprising their roles from the television series. Steven Universe: The Movie takes place two years after the events of the series finale "Change Your Mind", and follows the Crystal Gems as they attempt to save all organic life on Earth from a deranged Gem with a history with Steven's mother Pink Diamond/Rose Quartz.
Steven Universe: The Movie is the soundtrack to the 2019 television film Steven Universe: The Movie, based on the Cartoon Network animated television series Steven Universe. The soundtrack was released on September 1, 2019 by WaterTower Music ahead of the film's television premiere, and features 17 songs performed by the film's cast, with songwriters including Chance the Rapper, James Fauntleroy, Gallant, Ted Leo, Mike Krol, and Grant Henry amongst several others, collaborating with director Rebecca Sugar. It also includes the original film score composed by Aivi & Surasshu, who worked on the series. The deluxe edition of the album was released on November 15, and both editions were also released on vinyl.
