"Zingaat" is a popular Marathi-language song from the 2016 film Sairat , composed by the duo Ajay-Atul. It became the most-watched Marathi song on YouTube, with over 450 million views as of June 2021. [2]
The song was recorded at Sony Scoring Stage in Culver City, California. The production of "Zingaat" features an orchestra of 66 musicians, recorded on the world's largest Sony scoring stage. It includes a 45-piece string section, a 13–piece brass section, 6 woodwind instruments, a 6–piece horn section, 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, a tuba, and a harp. The orchestra was conducted by Mark Graham. [3] [4]
Mihir Bhanage of The Times of India wrote "What a track this is! High on beats, this catchy tune is impossible to stop humming and its sure to be a hit on the dance floor soon enough" [5] Nandini Ramnath of Scroll.in described "Zingaat" as one of the greatest earworms ever composed, and wrote "Combining traditional drums with a brass section and set to difficult-to-translate lyrics that speak of the raucous joys of young love." The song was retained in 2017 Kannada remake, Manasu Mallige with "Ayyayyappo" written by Yogaraj Bhat and composed by Ajay-Atul. [6]
A Hindi version of the song from the soundtrack album of Dhadak , featuring Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor, was released on 27 June 2018. The lyrics were penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, and the music was composed by Ajay-Atul. [9] [10]
