Prerana "Rinku" Mahadeo Rajguru (born 3 June 2001) is an Indian actress primarily working in Marathi and Hindi language films, best known for her role in the film Sairat for which she won a National Film Award, a Maharashtra State Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards Marathi. In 2025, at the 61st Maharashtra State Film Awards, Rinku Rajguru was honored with the prestigious Smita Patil Best Actress Award for her performance in Asha. [2] [3]

Personal life

Prerana Asha Mahadev Rajguru was born on 3 June 2001, in the town of Akluj, Maharashtra to parents Mahadev Rajguru and Āsha Rajguru. [1] [4] She studied from Tembhurni's Jai Tuljabhavani Arts and Science Junior Ashram College. [5] [6]

Career

In 2016, she made her debut with Nagraj Manjule's Sairat and won a National Film Award - Special Jury Award / Special Mention (Feature Film) at the 63rd National Film Awards for her performance. [2] [7] At 53rd Maharashtra State Film Awards Rinku Won Best Child Artist Award. She also won two Filmfare Awards Marathi in category of Best Female Debut and Best Actress at Filmfare Awards Marathi 2017. [8]

In the Kannada remake of Sairat, Manasu Mallige , Rajguru reprised her role. [9] [10] Later, she appeared in films like Kaagar , [11] Makeup, [12] Unpaused , and Aathva Rang Premacha . [13]

In 2022, she made her Bollywood debut with Jhund . [14] After a series of flops, in 2023 she appeared in critically and commercial successful film Jhimma 2 a film directed by Hemant Dhome and the second instalment in the Jhimma series. [15] It has grossed over ₹14 crore (US$1.7 million), emerging as the year's third highest grossing Marathi film. [16]

Rajguru debuted in digital space through Hotstar's action-comedy Hundred , released in 2020. [17] [18] In 2021, she was seen in ZEE5's 200 Halla Ho . [19]
