Mobile Suit Gundam:Char's Counterattack is a 1988 Japanese anime science fiction film directed and written by Yoshiyuki Tomino. It is set in the Universal Century timeline of the Gundam franchise. Featuring the talents of Shūichi Ikeda,Toru Furuya,Hirotaka Suzuoki,Maria Kawamura,Nozomu Sasaki,Kōichi Yamadera,among others,it focuses on Char Aznable's attempt of genocide on the planet Earth by pushing the asteroid called Axis into a collision with the planet. As a result,Char's rival from the Earth Federation Amuro Ray tries to defeat him in combat and avoid a slaughter in the process.

The series was directed by Hiroshi Negishi and written by Mayori Sekijima and Satoru Akahori. The story follows an organization called the Space Knights and their war against aliens known as the Radam. The Space Knights are assisted by Takaya Aiba,who has the ability to transform into an armored warrior known as Tekkaman Blade.

The film is set two years after the second season of Mobile Suit Gundam 00,as the film sees Celestial Being against a group of hostile aliens known as ELS. The film is notable for being the first entry in Gundam to feature aliens as its antagonists. The film premiered on September 18,2010,and was released on Blu-ray &DVD in Japan on December 25,2010.

The series is directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai and written by Mari Okada,a team which previously collaborated on Toradora! and Anohana:The Flower We Saw That Day. It aired in Japan on MBS and other JNN stations from October 4,2015 to March 27,2016,making this the first Gundam series to return to a Sunday late afternoon time slot since Mobile Suit Gundam Seed. A second season premiered the following year on October 2,2016.
