Winfield Toll Bridge, also known as the Ross Booth Memorial Bridge, is a historic three-span cantilever Warren Truss bridge located at Winfield and Red House, Putnam County, West Virginia. It was built in 1955, and spans the Kanawha River, carrying West Virginia Route 34. The cantilever through-truss consists of two anchor spans each 245 feet (75 m) in length and the main span 462 feet (141 m) in length between pier center lines. The main span consists of two 128-foot-4-inch (39.12 m) cantilever arms and a 205-foot-4-inch (62.59 m) suspended span. [2]

Jamestown Bridge bridge in United States of America

The Jamestown Bridge,, was a cantilever truss bridge that connected Conanicut Island to mainland North Kingstown, Rhode Island, spanning the West passage of Narragansett Bay. The bridge first opened to traffic in 1940, replacing ferry service as the primary connection for the town of Jamestown, situated on Conanicut Island. It was constructed for just over $3 million 1940 USD, which was paid for by tolls until June 28, 1969. With a total length of 6,892 feet, the Jamestown Bridge was the third longest in Rhode Island at the time of its destruction, ranking behind its replacement, the adjacent 7,350-foot Jamestown Verrazzano Bridge, and the 11,248-foot Claiborne Pell Newport Bridge connecting Conanicut Island to Aquidneck Island and Newport. The Jamestown Bridge was closed to vehicular traffic on October 8, 1992, and its main span was destroyed through a controlled demolition on April 18, 2006.

Fort Madison Toll Bridge

The Fort Madison Toll Bridge is a tolled, swinging truss bridge over the Mississippi River that connects Fort Madison, Iowa, and unincorporated Niota, Illinois. Rail traffic occupies the lower deck of the bridge, while two lanes of road traffic occupy the upper deck. The double-decker bridge, about a mile long with a swing span of 525 feet (160 m), was the longest and largest double-deck swing-span bridge in the world, when constructed in 1927.It replaced an inadequate combination roadway/single-track bridge completed in 1887. The main river crossing consists of four 270-foot (82 m) Baltimore through truss spans and a swing span made of two equal arms, 266 feet (81 m) long. In 1999, it was listed in the National Register of Historic Places under the title, Fort Madison Bridge, ID number 99001035. It was also documented by the Library of Congress Historic American Engineering Record, survey number HAER IA-62. Construction and photographic details were recorded at the time in Scientific American magazine.

Coraopolis Bridge bridge over Ohio River back channel at Neville Island, Pennsylvania

The Coraopolis Bridge is a girder bridge over the back channel of the Ohio River connecting Grand Avenue on Neville Island to Ferree Street in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. It opened in 1995 to replace a structure of historic significance. The original Pratt/Bowstring/Pennsylvania through truss spans, designed by Theodore Cooper, were formerly the (third) Sixth Street Bridge, spanning the Allegheny River, in downtown Pittsburgh, and were built in 1892 by the Union Bridge Company. They were floated downstream by the Foundation Company in 1927 rather than being demolished when the bridge was removed to enable construction of the present (fourth) Three Sisters (Pittsburgh) Sixth Street Self-anchored suspension bridge. However, by the late 1980s, the old bridge could no longer support traffic volumes and was replaced by a newer structure.

Bellaire Bridge

The Bellaire Bridge or Interstate Bridge is a privately owned, closed cantilever truss toll bridge that spans the Ohio River between Benwood, West Virginia and Bellaire, Ohio. It provided a link for commuters between southern Ohio border towns and West Virginia steel mills from 1926 to 1991.

The Colorado River Bridge at Bastrop is a 1,285-foot (392 m)-long bridge with three steel truss spans and concrete piers that crosses the Colorado River as part of Loop 150 through Bastrop, Texas. The three bridge spans over the river consist of identical Parker through trusses, each 192 feet (59 m) in length, supported on concrete piers. The bridge is one of the earliest surviving uses of the Parker truss in Texas.

Miami Bridge bridge in United States of America

The Miami Bridge, also known as the McDaniel Memorial Bridge, is a new concrete girder bridge that was built to replace a cantilever through truss bridge over the Missouri River at Miami, Missouri between Saline County, Missouri and Carroll County, Missouri. The Miami Bridge carries Route 41. The Miami Bridge was built in 1939, and its deck was replaced in 1983 as part of a rehabilitation project. The old bridge's main cantilever span was 474.7 feet, while the two anchor spans were each 415 feet in length, resulting in a total cantilever truss length of 1304.7 feet. There were 11 approach spans, including four Warren deck truss spans, three on the northern approach and one on the southern approach. All remaining approach spans were steel stringer (multi-beam/girder) spans. Total bridge length including approach spans is 2,071.9 feet. The bridge's deck width is 23.0 feet and it has vertical clearance of 16.5 feet.

It was built in 1893, by the Variety Iron Works Company or Cleveland, Ohio and crosses the Little Kanawha River. It consists of two Truss spans and one girder span. The three spans are 44 feet, 138 feet, 3 inches, and 23 feet, 9 inches. The structure is supported on two stone piers and a stone abutment.

Clarkton Bridge United States historic place

Clarkton Bridge was a historic Pratt truss bridge located over the Staunton River near Nathalie, in Charlotte County, Virginia. It was built in 1902 by the Virginia Bridge & Iron Co., and was the only remaining metal truss structure in Virginia built for highway purposes, which was supported by steel cylinder piers. It consisted of two camelback, pin-connected steel through truss channel spans, and twelve steel deck beam approach spans. The overall dimensions of the bridge approach and truss spans were as follows: north approach, 370 feet (110 m) with twelve deck spans; north truss, 150 feet (46 m); south truss, 150 feet (46 m). The total length of the bridge was 692 feet (211 m).

Meems Bottom Covered Bridge United States historic place

Meems Bottom Covered Bridge is a covered bridge in Shenandoah County, Virginia, United States. The bridge, at 204 feet (62 m), is the longest covered bridge in Virginia and one of the last that supports regular traffic. Near the town of Mount Jackson, the Meems Bottom Covered Bridge features a 200-foot single-span wooden Burr arch structure. Built in 1892 by Franklin Hiser Wissler, the wooden bridge over the North Fork of the Shenandoah River provided access to his apple orchards at Strathmore Farms. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 10, 1975.

The Admiral T. J. Lopez Bridge is a truss bridge crossing the Kanawha River at Chelyan, West Virginia, named for 4-star admiral Thomas J. Lopez. The Warren truss bridge cost $25.9 million to build, and was opened to traffic on June 30, 1997.

Scott Covered Bridge (Townshend, Vermont) United States historic place

Scott Covered Bridge is a covered bridge spanning the West River in Townshend, Vermont. Built in 1870, it is at 277 feet (84 m) one of the longest covered bridges in the state, exhibiting three different forms of support: a Town lattice truss, kingpost trusses, and laminated arches. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. It is closed to all traffic.

Wabash Bridge (Ohio River)

The Wabash Bridge is a railroad bridge over the Ohio River between the states of West Virginia and Ohio. It was the longest cantilever truss span for a short time when it was built. The bridge is also noted for its decorative finials on top of the towers. With its eastern end located on Route 2 in West Virginia, between Follansbee and Wellsburg, it was also a popular route for foot traffic from Follansbee and Wellsburg to Mingo Junction in Ohio. Streetcar service was provided on the West Virginia side to the steps leading to the footpath along the bridge.

The Allentown Bridge is a bridge spanning the Puerco River near Houck, Arizona, located in Apache County. The existing structure was completed in 1923 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
