Walnut is an unincorporated community in Pickaway County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. [1]

History

The first store at Walnut opened in 1834. [2] A post office called Walnut was established in 1890, and remained in operation until 1902. [3]

Big Walnut Creek starts near Mount Gilead, Ohio in Morrow County. It flows south to eastern Delaware County and parallels Alum Creek. It passes to the east of Sunbury and into Hoover Reservoir, which then crosses into Franklin County. From the dam outflow in Westerville the creek flows through Gahanna and Whitehall. Near Obetz it is joined by its principal tributaries Alum Creek and Blacklick Creek at the Three Creeks Columbus Metro Park. It flows through southern Franklin County and joins the Scioto River near the Franklin-Pickaway Counties line at 39°47′57″N83°00′34″W.

Meade or Mutton Jerk or Salem is an unincorporated community in Pickaway Township, Pickaway County, Ohio, United States. Meade is located at the intersection of State Route 159 and Hayesville Rd.. Its population is 79. Its children attend school in the Logan Elm Local School District. The nearest town near Meade is Kingston and Circleville. The town has only one commercial building, which is the Meade, Ohio United Methodist Church. Its Main Street is Hayesville Road, which the population of Meade and people near Meade call "Main Street".
