102 FM is a radio station broadcasting on 102 MHz FM in Thessaloniki, Greece. It is owned by ERT3, ERT's regional public broadcaster for northern Greek audiences. It broadcasts news programs and talk shows.

History

102 FM was one of the three radio stations that the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation broadcast across Greece and all the Greek diaspora, the other two being on 95.8 FM and the Trito Programma Vrahea.

The first program broadcast on 102 FM was also transmitted on 1044 kHz in the medium wave band.

11 June 2013 - 10 June 2015

The digital Radio Station of Macedonia that broadcast 102 FM's broadcasts operated up until June 2013, when the Greek government decided to close down the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation.

On 11 June 2013, after ERT's closure, the station continued broadcasting from the second frequency of ERA Sport Thessaloniki at 103.3 FM, under the name ERA Thessaloniki. Since June 2015, after ERT's re-opening, the radio station is operated by ERT3, ERT's department in Macedonia, that replaced NERIT Macedonia.

It mainly broadcasts from Thessaloniki with regional studios in various north cities, including Florina, Komotini, Alexandroupoli and on the islands of Paros, Lesbos (Mytilene) and Samos.

ERT Sports was a Greek free-to-air television channel, owned by the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation, the state broadcaster of Greece. The Shutdown of ERT took place in Greece from June 11 until November 7, 2013. The ND/PASOK/DIMAR coalition government closed the then public broadcaster as part of its transformation to New Hellenic Radio, Internet and Television (NERIT). The decision was very controversial, and caused national and international outrage, and caused Democratic Left to leave the government. The majority of fired employees continued to broadcast from the headquarters of ERT, while after their expulsion from the Radiomegaron, a minority continued broadcasting through ΕRT Open while others took part in the new public broadcaster, NERIT.
