The 12th Shorty Awards were held on May 3, 2020 via an online live stream event. The event was originally scheduled to be held at 1515 Broadway Theater in New York City, [1] however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was held virtually. [2] The digital show was hosted by American actor and comedian J. B. Smoove, and Fetty Wap provided a musical performance. The show was streamed on Periscope and YouTube with presenters including Lindsey Vonn, Bobby Berk and Jaime Camil. [3]

The full nominations were announced on January 21, 2020 before voting and academy rankings determined the finalists. [1] The finalists were announced on March 10, 2020. [2] Winners were announced at the ceremony on May 3, 2020. [4]

The 11th Shorty Awards were held on May 5, 2019, in New York City at the PlayStation Theater. The ceremony was hosted by American actress and comedian Kathy Griffin, along with a music performance by Tank and the Bangas. The event was live streamed on YouTube and Twitter with presenters including Denzel Dion, Devin Lytle, Eva Gutowski, Freddie Ransome, Grace Helbig, Jay Shetty, Lauren Giraldo, Mamrie Hart, Meghan Currie, Miles McKenna, Molly Burke, Raymond Braun, Remi Cruz, Ryland Adams, Samir Mezrahi, Sean Evans, Shangela, and The Try Guys.

Eva Diana Kidisyuk is a YouTuber. Together with her brother Roma and parents Volodymyr and Olena, she hosts several YouTube channels producing roleplay-oriented content. As of March 2021 her main channel was the 5th most-viewed and 5th most-subscribed in the world.

Lily Ki, better known as LilyPichu, is an American online streamer, voice actress, artist and YouTuber. She is a member of OfflineTV, an online group of content creators, and was one of the most subscribed female Twitch streamers during her time on the platform. As a voice actress, she is most well-known for the voice of Genshin Impact character Sayu and the English dub voice of Muni Ohnaruto in D4DJ First Mix. Ki began creating videos on YouTube in June 2010 and streaming on Twitch in August 2012. After ten years of streaming on Twitch, she signed an exclusive contract with YouTube in July 2022 and announced the move to the platform. However, as of July 12, 2024, Ki returned to streaming on Twitch after her contract deal with YouTube expired.

Brandon George Rogers is an American actor, comedian, filmmaker, and YouTuber. He plays many characters in his eponymous YouTube channel and is a writer on the adult animated web series Helluva Boss, in which he primarily voices the main character Blitzo, as well as voicing reporter Katie Killjoy in Hazbin Hotel.

Jan Hakon Erichsen is a Norwegian contemporary artist. He is known for his short "destruction videos", often featuring balloons being popped.

Chloe Ting is a fitness personality YouTuber based in New York. She is known as the most subscribed fitness content creator on YouTube, and for her workout programs, particularly her "Two Week Shred Challenge" which went viral on TikTok and YouTube during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
