The 1960 Individual Long Track European Championship was the fourth edition of the Long Track European Championship. [1] The final was held on 17 July 1960 in Plattling, West Germany. [2]

The Long track is a motorcycle sport version of speedway, but taking place on tracks ranging from 425 to 1000 metres in length at much higher speeds. Josef Hofmeister is a former Motorcycle rider who competed in Grasstrack, Longtrack and Speedway. He competed in six World Longtrack Championship Finals and won a hat-trick of titles between 1958 and 1960. Josef was also a World Speedway finalist on four occasion.
