The Copa Fraternidad 1971 was the first Central American club championship played between six clubs, two from Costa Rica, two from El Salvador and two from Guatemala. This was the first edition under this format.

The Estadio Nacional Doroteo Guamuch Flores is a multi-use national stadium in Guatemala City, the largest venue in Guatemala. It was built in 1948, to host the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1950, and was renamed after long-distance runner Doroteo Guamuch Flores, winner of the 1952 Boston Marathon. It has a capacity of 26,000 seats.
The 2004 UNCAF Interclub Cup was the 22nd edition of the Central American Club Championship and the 6th edition under its current name, UNCAF Interclub Cup. C.S.D. Municipal from Guatemala, lifted its 4th title.
Comunicaciones Fútbol Club S.A., better known as Comunicaciones F.C. or Comunicaciones, is a professional football club based in Guatemala City. They compete in the Liga Nacional, the top tier of Guatemalan football. One of the most popular and successful football clubs in Guatemala, Comunicaciones have won 32 National Championships, including having won six consecutive, the most of any Guatemalan club team. In addition to their 32 league titles, Comunicaciones have won eight league Cups and ten Supercups. In international competition, Comunicaciones have garnered 2 UNCAF Interclub Cups, one CONCACAF Champion's Cup and one CONCACAF League championship.

The 1963 CONCACAF Championship was the first edition of the CONCACAF Championship, the football championship of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF). The tournament was held between 23 March to 7 April. Nine teams participated in the inaugural event.
The 1973 CONCACAF Championship qualification consisted of a single round of play. The 14 teams were divided into 6 groups of 2 or 3 teams. The teams would play against each other on a home-and-away basis. The group winners would then advance to the tournament.

The 1974 Copa Fraternidad was the fourth Central American club championship played between 6 clubs. C.S.D. Municipal won the tournament.

The Panama U-17 men's national football team is the national under-17 football team of Panama and is controlled by the Federación Panameña de Fútbol. The highest level of competition in which the team may compete is in the FIFA U-17 World Cup, which is held every two years.
The 2013 Copa Centroamericana was the 12th Copa Centroamericana, the regional championship for men's national association football teams in Central America. It was organized by the Unión Centroamericana de Fútbol or UNCAF, and took place in Costa Rica from 18 January to 27 January 2013. The top five teams go on to participate in the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
The 2016–17 CONCACAF Champions League group stage was played from August 2 to October 20, 2016. A total of 24 teams competed in the group stage to decide the eight places in the knockout stage of the 2016–17 CONCACAF Champions League.

The 1974 Copa Interamericana was the 4th. edition of the Copa Interamericana. The final was contested by Argentine Club Atlético Independiente and Guatemalan team Municipal. The final was played under a two-leg format in November 1974. Both matches were held in Guatemala City.
The 1958 FIFA World Cup qualification for North, Central America and the Caribbean serves as the preliminary tournament for the region. Six teams entered the tournament to compete for one place in the final tournament.
The 2023 CONCACAF U-17 Championship was the 7th edition of the CONCACAF Under-17 Championship, the men's under-17 international football tournament organized by CONCACAF. It was hosted by Guatemala between 11 February and 26 February 2023. The top four teams qualified for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Indonesia as CONCACAF representatives.
