The 1984 Men's World Outdoor Bowls Championship was held at Westburn Park in Aberdeen, Scotland, from 11 to 28 July 1984. [1] [2]
Peter Belliss won the singles defeating Willie Wood in the final. Wood qualified for the final because he finished with a seven-shot advantage in section A over David Bryant despite identical records of winning nine rounds each.
United States won the pairs, Ireland won the triples and England won the fours. [3] The Leonard Trophy went to Scotland. [4] [5]

William Walker Wood MBE is a former Scottish professional bowls player, who has mainly competed in the outdoor or lawn form of the game. He is regarded as one of the leading bowlers of his generation and his list of achievements include appearing at eight Commonwealth Games and winning two gold medals and eight World Bowls Championship gold medals.
David John Bryant was a three-times World (outdoors) singles bowls champion, a three-times World indoors singles champion and a four times Commonwealth Games singles gold medallist. He is generally considered to be the greatest bowler of all time, winning 19 World and Commonwealth gold medals in total.

Omar Kachong Dallah was a Hong Kong international lawn and indoor bowler and field hockey international. Appearing as a member of Hong Kong's 1964 Olympics hockey team, he later became the national team's captain and then coach. As a men's fours bowler, he and his teammates won gold in the 1978 Edmonton Commonwealth Games, and 1980 Melbourne World Outdoor Championships.
The fourth Commonwealth Paraplegic Games were held in Dunedin, New Zealand from 13 to 19 January 1974. The Games were opened by Sir Denis Blundell, Governor-General of New Zealand.
