The 2000 Men's World Outdoor Bowls Championship [1] was held at Marks Park Bowling Club, in Johannesburg, South Africa, from 1 to 15 April 2000.
The 2000 Women's World Outdoor Bowls Championship was held at Moama Bowling Club in Moama, Australia from 8 to 25 March 2000.

Stephen John Glasson OAM is an Australian bowls player. He was number one in the world in 2004 and was ranked first in Australia between 1997 and 2005. He is currently the Australian national bowls coach.

The World Singles Champion of Champions is an event inaugurated in 2003 that is contested annually between bowlers who have won their respective national singles title.
The Atlantic Bowls Championships was a lawn bowling competition held between national bowls organisations in the Atlantic region. The event was a qualifying event for the World Outdoor Bowls Championships until the 2021 announcement that it would no longer be held. Originally the Championships were for women only and were called the Atlantic Rim Championships. In 2007 men competed for the first time at the event.
