General elections were held on the Isle of Man on the 27 November 1986 to elect all 24 members to the island's lower house: the House of Keys. Walter Gilbey was elected unopposed in Glenfaba. [1]
The electoral system was changed in 1982 to single transferable vote with the Representation of the People (Preferential Voting) Act. [2]

In the United Kingdom, the boundary commissions are non-departmental public bodies responsible for determining the boundaries of parliamentary constituencies for elections to the House of Commons. There are four boundary commissions: one each for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The Legislative Council is the upper chamber of Tynwald, the legislature of the Isle of Man. The abbreviation "LegCo" is often used.
The Manx Labour Party is a political party on the Isle of Man that was founded in 1918.
The Isle of Man partially elects its legislature at the national level. The High Court of Tynwald consists of two chambers. The House of Keys has 24 members, elected in a general election for a five-year term in 12 two-seat constituencies. Each voter has two votes and in each constituency the two candidates with the most votes are elected. The House of Laity is the lower house in the tricameral General Synod of the Church of England legislature. They are responsible for representing the laity of the Church of England in the legislature. They are indirectly elected every 5 years by members on the Church of England's electoral roll via the representatives on the Diocesan Synods.
Onchan, historically Kirk Conchan, is one of the seventeen historic parishes of the Isle of Man.

Robert Howard Quayle is the former chief minister for the Isle of Man, between 4 October 2016 and 12 October 2021. He previously served as the minister for Health and Social Care, until the elections in September 2016.
