Synchronized swimming

Synchronised swimming or artistic swimming is a hybrid form of swimming, dance, and gymnastics, consisting of swimmers performing a synchronised routine of elaborate moves in the water, accompanied by music. Artistic swimming is governed internationally by FINA, and has been part of the Summer Olympics programme since 1984.

LEN

LEN is the European governing body for aquatic sports affiliated to FINA — it is the Continental Association for Europe. It was formally organized in 1927 in Bologna, Italy, and since 2015 is headquartered in Nyon.

Andrea Fuentes Spanish synchronized swimmer

Andrea Fuentes Fache is a Spanish retired synchronised swimmer. Her sister was synchronised swimmer Tina Fuentes (1984–2018). She is the most decorated swimmer in the history of the Spanish national team, with four Olympic, 16 World Championship and 11 European Championship medals: her four Olympic medals also make her the most decorated Spanish female Olympian of all time, alongside Arantxa Sánchez Vicario and Mireia Belmonte.

The free routine combination synchronised swimming competition at the 2009 World Aquatics Championships was held in Rome, Italy from July 17 to August 2, 2009. The competition was won by Spain, who performed a routine to the Led Zeppelin song "Stairway to Heaven". The gold medal was the first world championship title in the history of the Spanish synchronised swimming team.

Synchronized swimming competitions at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London were held from Sunday 5 August to Friday 10 August, at the London Aquatics Centre. Two medal events were included in the programme — women's duet and women's team — with 100 athletes participating.

Synchronized swimming competitions at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro were staged from 15 to 20 August at the Maria Lenk Aquatic Center. A total of 104 athletes competed in two medal events, namely the women's duet and the women's team.

Singapore Swimming Association

Singapore Swimming Association (SSA) is the national governing body for swimming, diving, synchronised swimming, water polo and open water swimming in Singapore. Founded in 1939 as the Singapore Amateur Swimming Association (SASA), the body adopted its current name in 2002. It has been a member of FINA since 1939, and is one of 43 members of the Asia Swimming Federation.

Synchronised swimming at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games was held in the OCBC Aquatic Centre, in Kallang, Singapore from 2 to 4 June 2015.
