The 1997 Korean Professional Football League was the 15th season of K League. Busan Daewoo Royals won three domestic trophies including two Korean League Cups in this season. [1]

Choi Yong-soo is a South Korean professional football manager and former player.
Shin Tae-yong is a South Korean former professional footballer and manager who is currently coaching the Indonesia national football team. He is the first man to win the Asian Club Championship/AFC Champions League as both player and manager, having won the 1995 Asian Club Championship and the 2010 AFC Champions League with Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma.
Hwang Sun-hong is a South Korean former football player and current manager of the South Korea national under-23 football team. He was the most notable South Korean striker in the 1990s and early 2000s.

The 1987 Korean Professional Football League was the fifth season of the K League. Before the start of this season, the Korean Professional Football Committee was separated from the Korea Football Association. A total of 5 professional teams participated in the league. Hanil Bank withdrew the league from this season. It began on 28 March and ended on 8 November 1987. It was operated with the home and away system for the first time.

The three most popular players of them Ko Jong-soo, Lee Dong-gook, and Ahn Jung-hwan were called the "K League Troika".

His handball was recognized as a goal by the Chinese referee Sun Baojie, and it directly determined Suwon's league title. Under the influence of controversy, Drakulić failed to win the MVP Award.
