The 2020 K League 2 was the eighth season of the K League 2, the second-tier South Korean professional football league. The champions and the winners of the promotion play-offs could be promoted to the K League 1. The second, third and fourth-placed teams qualified for the promotion play-offs.

On 24 April 2020, the K League Federation confirmed that they reduced the number of matchdays to 27. [1]

Promotion play-offs

The first round was contested between the third and fourth-placed teams, and the runners-up played the winners of the first round in the final. When the matches were finished as draws, their winners were decided on the regular season rankings without extra time and penalty shoot-outs.

Park Dong-Hyuk is a South Korean former football defender who last played for K League Classic club Ulsan Hyundai. His previous clubs were Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, Gamba Osaka, Kashiwa Reysol and Dalian Shide. He was a part of South Korea, who appeared at the Summer Olympic Games in 2000.

The 2020 Korean FA Cup, known as the 2020 Hana Bank FA Cup due to sponsorship agreement with Hana Bank, was the 25th edition of the Korean FA Cup. University clubs, including U-League teams, could not enter the competition since this year, and were replaced by K5 League teams.

The 2021 Korean FA Cup, known as the 2021 Hana Bank FA Cup due to sponsorship agreement with Hana Bank, was the 26th edition of the Korean FA Cup. Similar to the previous year, U-League teams did not participate, and the top ten sides from the K5 League gained qualification instead.

The 2022 K League 2 was the tenth season of the K League 2, the second-tier South Korean professional football league. The champions and the winners of the promotion play-offs could be promoted to the K League 1.

The 2023 K League 2, also known as the Hana 1Q K League 2 for sponsorship reasons, was the 11th season of the K League 2, the second-highest division in South Korean football league system. It had 39 matchdays and teams played each other three times.

The 2023 Korean FA Cup, known as the 2023 Hana 1Q FA Cup due to sponsorship agreement with Hana Bank, was the 28th edition of the Korean FA Cup. The winners qualified for the 2024–25 AFC Champions League Elite.
