The 2008 FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship was the 20th edition of the FIBA Asia's youth basketball championship. The games were played in Tehran, Iran, from August 28 to September 5, 2008.
The top three teams qualified for the 2009 FIBA Under-19 World Championship.
According to the FIBA Asia rules, each zone had two places, and the hosts (Iran) and holders (China) were automatically qualified. The other four places are allocated to the zones according to performance in the 2006 FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship.

The FIBA Asia Cup is an international basketball tournament which takes place every four years between the men's national teams of Asia and Oceania.
The 2007 FIBA Asia Championship for Men was the qualifying tournament for FIBA Asia at the men's basketball tournament at the 2008 Summer Olympics at Beijing. The tournament was held in Tokushima, Japan from July 28 to August 5, 2007.
The 2007 FIBA Asia Championship qualification was held in early 2007 with the Gulf region, West Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia and Middle Asia each conducting tournaments.
The 2011 FIBA Asia Championship for Men is the intercontinental championship for basketball organized by FIBA Asia that doubles as a qualifying tournament for the men's basketball tournament of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England, United Kingdom. The tournament was held in 15–25 September 2011 at Wuhan, Hubei, China. Lebanon was the original host for the event. Team China won the tournament, defeating Jordan 70–69 in the final. This tournament served as the first step in determining the process of the qualifiers for the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup which will feature teams from both FIBA Asia and FIBA Oceania for the first time. Iran are the defending champion from 2014.
The 2017 FIBA Asia Champions Cup was the 26th staging of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup, the international basketball club tournament of FIBA Asia. The tournament took place in Chenzhou, China from 22 September to 30 September 2017. This was the second straight year that China hosted the tournament.
The 2025 FIBA Asia Cup qualification is a basketball competition that is being played from June 2022 to February 2025, to determine the fifteen FIBA Asia–Oceania nations who will join the automatically qualified host Saudi Arabia at the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup.
