Mersin İdmanyurdu (MİY) football team played in Turkish First Football League, the first level division for the first time in 1967–68 season. They finished tenth. In their first season they have become one of the most scorer teams. In Turkish Cup they were eliminated at second round. Before the season MİT had sent an offer to former coach of Turkish national football team Sandro Puppo. However, later Cihat Arman has signed as coach. Bayram Birinci was trainer.

2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup

The 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup was the nineteenth edition of the FIFA U-20 World Cup, since its inception in 1977 as the FIFA World Youth Championship. It ran from 21 June to 13 July 2013. At the FIFA Executive Meeting in Zürich on 3 March 2011, Turkey beat other bids to host the series games, from host competition by the United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan. In its bid, Turkey suggested the use of 13 stadiums in 10 of its cities, before deciding in February 2012, that seven cities would play host to games.

The 1986 FIFA World Cup qualification UEFA Group 3 was a UEFA qualifying group for the 1986 FIFA World Cup. The group comprised England, Finland, Northern Ireland, Romania and Turkey.

İzmir is a transportation hub for western Anatolia. İzmir has an extensive bus system, a developing metro and commuter rail system and a large urban ferry network. The 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup qualification UEFA Group 6 was a UEFA qualifying group for the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup. The group comprised Belarus, England, Montenegro, Turkey, Ukraine and Wales.

Group 6 of the UEFA Euro 1976 qualifying tournament was one of the eight groups to decide which teams would qualify for the UEFA Euro 1976 finals tournament. Group 6 consisted of four teams: Soviet Union, Republic of Ireland, Turkey, and Switzerland, where they played against each other home-and-away in a round-robin format. The group winners were the Soviet Union, who finished one point above the Republic of Ireland.

The 1932 Turkish Football Championship was the third edition of the competition. İstanbulspor won their first and only championship title by defeating Altınordu 3–0 in the final. For Altınordu it was the club's second appearance in the final, with one more to follow in 1935.

The 1951 Turkish Football Championship was the 16th and last edition of the competition. It was held in May. Beşiktaş won their fifth national championship title by winning the Final Group in Balıkesir.

The 1935 Turkish Football Championship was the sixth edition of the competition. Fenerbahçe won their second national championship title by defeating Altınordu 3–1 in the final. For Altınordu it was the club's third and last appearance in the championship final.
