The Colorado Rockies' 2010 season , the franchise's 18th in Major League Baseball, was a season in American baseball. It featured the club's attempt to make the postseason in consecutive seasons for the first time in the history of the franchise. The club finished third in the National League West with a record of 83–79.

Offseason

Ubaldo Jiménez no-hitter

On April 17, 2010, in a game against the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field in Atlanta, Rockies right-hander Ubaldo Jiménez threw the first no-hitter in the 18-year history of the franchise. The Rockies won the game 4–0. [3] While Jiménez walked six Braves batters, he struck out seven. [4] Jiménez also contributed offensively, driving in one run.

Despite the team finishing fourth in their division and finishing with a mediocre record, the team batted excellently; the 2000 Rockies combined for a team batting average of .294, which was the integration era's highest mark since the 1950 Boston Red Sox batted .302. They led the league in hits; finished 2nd in on-base percentage and runs scored; and third in stolen bases.

The Colorado Rockies' 2004 season was the 12th for the Rockies, attempting to win the National League West. Clint Hurdle was the manager. They played home games at Coors Field. They finished with a record of 68–94, fourth in the NL West.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">1999 Cincinnati Reds season</span> Major League Baseball team season

The 1999 Cincinnati Reds season was the 130th season for the franchise in Major League Baseball. During the season the Reds became a surprising contender in the National League Central, winning 96 games and narrowly losing the division to the Houston Astros, ultimately missing the playoffs after losing a tie-breaker game to the New York Mets. As of 2023, the 1999 Reds currently hold the Major League record for the most wins by a team that failed to reach the playoffs in the Wild Card era.

The 2004 Houston Astros season was the 43rd season for the Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise in Houston, Texas. Five years removed from opening Minute Maid Park, the Astros hosted the All-Star Game, which was the first held in Houston since 1986. Having limped into the All-Star break with a 44–44 record, Phil Garner was named to replace Jimy Williams as manager. The Astros finished second in the American League Central and captured the NL Wild Card. The Astros won a postseason series for the first time in franchise history by defeating the Atlanta Braves in the National League Division Series (NLDS), scoring an NLDS-record 36 runs. Roger Clemens won the NL Cy Young Award, becoming the fourth pitcher to win the award in both leagues, and the only one with seven overall.

The Phillies were managed by their former shortstop Larry Bowa (85–75) and Gary Varsho (1–1), who replaced Bowa on the penultimate day of the season. The Phillies played their first season of home games at Citizens Bank Park, which opened April 12, with the visiting Cincinnati Reds defeating the Phillies, 4–1.

The 2009 Colorado Rockies entered the season attempting to improve on their 74–88 record from 2008. They lost 28 of their first 46 games, but following the hiring of interim manager Jim Tracy, the Rockies came back to win their third Wild Card title, and second in three years. The team drew 2,665,080 fans for the season, their highest total since 2002. The average home attendance was 32,902 fans. Their 92 regular season wins is currently the most in a single season in Rockies franchise history.

The Colorado Rockies' 2011 season, the franchise's 19th in Major League Baseball, was a season in American baseball. They did not return to the postseason for the third time in five years after also missing in 2010.

The 2018 Colorado Rockies season was the franchise's 26th in Major League Baseball and the 24th season the Rockies played their home games at Coors Field. Bud Black returned for his second consecutive season as manager. They won 91 games during the regular season, which was the second-highest mark in franchise history and just one win behind the franchise record set in 2009. They finished the season with a record of 91–71 after losing to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West tie-breaker and subsequently opened the postseason by defeating the Chicago Cubs in the NLWC Game. Their season ended when they were swept by the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLDS.
